why is when you do something in the lifestyle that someone may not feel it is right they make it  their obligation to take something positive and informative and trash it or change for their benefit. I have found this in chat rooms and on certain sites and other things. if freedom of speech was held with those same bonds we would never ever be able to have lifestyle anything.
I for one think it is petty. do you find this in clubs or orgs or even on other sites.. while every thing has rules speaking about things in rt or life should not be censored... it is form of positive education for the the betterment of all. to infringe of on such things is setting a double standard... your take on this

mnottertail -> RE: Control Freaks (8/6/2007 11:54:13 AM)

if you do it 'outside the lifestyle' it comes to the same ignominious end.

I am terribly sorry but the intent of your post is escaping me.  Could you clarify please.

I dunno, why have you done that?  Because you have on several topics.

So you're upset that people use free speech, and then upset when speech is limited?

If you're going to use someone else's equipment to send your message, you have to abide by their rules.

Dearest latex,

If you visit My yahoo 360 blog,  you will see that I posted something very similar in My vanilla life---for months, I struggled with who I was, when what was happening, it was being clouded by what others thought I should do/be---but this is not about Me--you question--we are a world of busy bodies---we make oursleves feel better by belittling others,  I am not free from that sin either I am afraid---My grandmother used to say, "We demean in others the things we like least in ourselves"---at times that holds true.  It does get irritating, however, I am far from blameless as well.

It would be far easier to understand and respond to your posts, if you imporved your written communication skills.

It is human nature.

The best you can hope for is to inspire by personal example.

And those that live in glass houses...........

SimplyMichael -> RE: Control Freaks (8/6/2007 12:33:00 PM)

I wonder why someone who is suposedly real life and experienced gives a rat's ass about chatrooms.  As for booting people out, I think we should throw more people out, it would make things much more pleasant and drama free for the rest of us.

I'd wager that he's ticked over a post he made in direct violation of the site's TOS being pulled.

IMO, it's disrespectful to deliberately post things that will get the rest of us into legal hot water, not to mention awfully discourteous to the owners of the site.

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: Control Freaks (8/6/2007 12:39:31 PM)

maybe cause no one person has the right to censor anything.. not when it is made to the public.. civil rights are just that..  when we try to censor speach.. when it is the best interest of all ...we are no better then the goverment or other institutions...

Lashra -> RE: Control Freaks (8/6/2007 12:40:53 PM)

I personally do not give a fuck what other people do. I will do whatever it is that I please and if others don't like it, who cares?

Well the US government IS "we"

What makes you think a privately owned chat room or cyber forum is somehow subject to civil rights?

Well, you're half correct.  If this were a publicly-owned or government website, perhaps your Constitutional plight might be more right on.  But in the realm of a privately owned and operated entity where you are a guest, I don't think you are entitled to the same protections and freedoms.  You yourself signed an agreement with an electronic signature that stated what you consented to -- including restriction of speech based on restricted topics here on this site.  If you disagree with that, you're welcome to create your own site that allows discussions of all things illegal, and open yourself to liability of other's speech impacting your freedoms (like staying out of jail for discussing unmentionables.)
