HereIamAgain -> Hello and questions (8/5/2007 6:57:10 PM)

   Hello all!

I am a 23 year old male switch / sub.  I am definately a submissive at heart, but life and
my job has required me to be otherwise.  So I take both roles with many people.  Most of my expierance has been solo stuff, but I've done enough to realize I like it.... alot.  Its something I want to explore further and thus my introduction now.

I've been on collarme a while, but its not something I've been 100% comfortable with.  Again this is a more recent thing.

I am very bad at on-line communication.  I'm not sure what it is.  Some people seem gifted in this respect, but if I have never heard your voice its hard for me to communicate effectively with you.  Sorry :(.  In this regard I am asking for suggestions to help mne with that.  I am also wondering what people say when they first message someone else?  I have many questions and such.

Thanks to any and all for help [:)]!

-Mike

Hello, Mike, and welcum to CM - we're glad to have you here on the Forums, too.  ^.~

As far as your first question goes - some visualizing I do when mailing/chatting with people is just imagining I am talking to someone say at my corner bar or a similar familliar and comfortable environment.  If this person came up and started talking to me, saying those things while I'm sitting there sipping my beer, how would I act/react, etc.  Half the time I end up speaking out loud while I write mails because just hearing my own voice helps me wrap my senses around what it is exactly I'm saying to the person I'm communicating with.

For your second question...?  Well this is entirely dependant upon personal feelings/comfort.  A lot of people on CM just spam-mail people they contact with generic form letters telling about themselves and what they are looking for, ending it with 'well if you're interested hit me back' or some such other nonsense.  A lot of times it makes this place feel like a dating site ...  Heh.  But I meander.  Personally, I answer all my mails - evne if its just to say things like 'Thanks, but no thanks.'  My best advice in first contact though, is to read their profile and send a message that illustrates you read it and comprehend it, and possibly include a question to help motivate them to write you back.  'Wow I just noticed you enjoy wind surfing!  Is it half as fun as it looks?' or something along those lines works normally to people who are receptive to first contact.

However, my personal taste is for the people I regularly communicate with to be honest about whatever it is they are looking for from the beginning - since I abhor deluding people with false pretenses or anything along those lines, I always make sure that mails referencing any kind of personal contact are replied to with the statement, 'Like I say in my profile and journal, I'm not seeking anything beyond friendship.'

I hope thats helpful, although all of it is just personal conjecture and might not have any application to your purposes at all, heh.

Welcum aboard, again.
