I tend to agree with denika... for my own part, I had a definite liking for girls on the playground who were "take charge" types, even from an early age. I grew up thinking I was some kind of mutant because of it. Then, around '74, Playboy ran a pictoral on the Jacklin version of "Story of O" and realized there was a name for what it was that interested me so much. A name... and that there were enought people out there also interested in it to make producing a movie about it worth while. It was the classic: "I'm not the only one!" moment. However, as she rightly pointed out, from that moment on, I was a little more aware of such depictions in the media, and it shaped my desires somewhat. I know that I definitely picked up ideas from Catwoman, and Emma Peel, and all those other "damsel in distress" scenes in adventure stories. By the time I actually hit puberty, I think the pattern had been set. But I feel I was predisposed to it to begin with.
