Everyone has an opinion on what fetish wear (stuff you might wear to the local BDSM club) and "normal clothing" are... I know for myself, other than a pair of chaps and/or a vest my everyday wear is my fetish wear, I am almost always in a pair of blue levi's or black dress style pants, with a black shirt on, thats just what I feel comfortable in. lucky for me, alot of Male Tops  dress in that same fashion, blue jeans, black pants, or cammo BDU style pants, usually a black dress shirt, tee shirt or "wife beater"... but I know for the ladies, and other folk it might be a little more taxing to have two wardrobes of clothing.so I thought I would ask what the people here on CM thought of the topic, and maybe could help to enlighten me and broaden my horizons.

Blessings,

Mike

Well, I have that Goth gene going on, so black to me is the ultimately sexy. Somehow a print, floral moomoo just doesn't float my boat. Generally, I like a nice, tight corset, some thigh highs with garters, my hair down and flowing and, of course, collar and cuffs but Himself thinks the corset is a pain in the ass to remove, so it's a treat to get to wear it. Every day stuff - it's weather dependent since it can get down to 40 below with the wind chill in these parts (in which case a parka is a turn on) or 120 above with the heat index (in which case naked sounds kinda cool.)

Fetish wear can be anything- since anything can be a fetish.  My partner has a fetish for sneakers and blue jeans.  I'm exceedingly thrilled about this because I can be comfy and still have him drooling.

My particular preferences are on the glamorous end- ball gowns, tulle skirts, many colors and metallics.  You won't see me in black/leather usually unless it's a specific leather event.  I also enjoy wearing native clothing from other places because it looks exotic here.  Camo, chain mail, pvc, corsets, stoles, hats, scarves are all in my wardrobe as well.

And I've worn blatantly kinky clothes to vanilla places and vanilla clothes to kinky places.  It's much more important to me that it look clean, neat, and work for the body (and be fairly in style) rather than it looking "kinky"

Hello Mike, and A/all,

I'm afraid I am one of those who do have two different wardrobes.  (Three, really if you'd like to count the work clothes as well.)  Most of the things I wear are either for the club or for at home.  Not that I won't do the casual black top and jeans for around the house, but the leather is strictly for events.

I try to keep the leathers for special events and whatnot, but there are times wen my chaps and vest get put on and I head out on a motorcycle ride. I wish I could afford to build a wardrobe of leathers just for fetish events but alas, being a 20 somthing college student, that is hard...

I do wear my really great red corset on occasions when I have a play partner coming by.    Depends on who it is, my mood and what I think I may do with him that evening.  I LOVE to dress up for play parties and going to dungeons/clubs.  Though I've been seen in private clubs in shorts and sneakers too.

For day to day with a live in....I'm in (oh yes...) t shirts, sweatpants or my husbands shorts.  I love jeans for leaving the house and I rather not put on anything more dressy than jeans and T's unless I'm meeting someone for the first time or if  I'm going someplace that warrants it.

Since this is the profile of a FM couple, I should say: This post is written by a woman.

I don't really own any dedicated, sold-in-kinky-store fetish gear. Corsets don't suit me, and good catsuits, which can, are very expensive for cost-per-wear. Less costly articles don't have the fit or quality that I like. So, in an effort to dress appropriately for BDSM events, I choose clothes from non-fetish stores and mix them up in a somewhat fetish-appropriate way. Leather and suede skirts and pants, dresses, and tops in particularly vibrant colors and fabrics (satin silk, velvet) can be used easily for BDSM functions and can fit non-BDSM occasions, too. Plus, there is a greater variation in style, color, and fit available when shopping at non-kinky stores, and generally better workmanship for the price going this way. So, I can find something that really suits my preferred look and my body. I do have a couple pairs of footwear that are reserved for playtime or fetish events, and I think that accessories like that can really change the look of an outfit.

Fetish wear is not a fetish of mine.  My idea of fetish appropriate wear for BDSM events is a black Titleist shirt.

For me. . . .everyday wear and fetish wear often do crossover. I'm not decked out in full enclosed rubber for "everyday" wear. . .but I might just wear rubber stockings with an outfit. . .or a corset under my clothes. . .and I'm often found in ridiculously high heels just to get some bread or fill my car up with gas.

But since my fetish wardrobe is "pretty out there" compared to mainstream clothing. . .the bulk of it is kept separate.

I *do* have a readily available explanation for curious people if I do decide to wear rubber out and about. . .I'd tell them I have a severe skin condition.

I am another cross over - like LA I just wear something that someone may consider iconic fetish to a 'vanilla' event - but not usually in reverse because anything can be 'fetish' really.  Fetish can be anything that stimulates a sexual response, so that could be anything to anyone and nothing to someone else.  Barefoot is fetishwear for me, though I don't usually participate in a busy public setting simply to save my tootsies!  New Rocks cause me to have hot flushes, corsets and heels on male or female.  Kilts are fab too...  and tight pants ROCK!

How about *too* tight pants? Am I the only one that appreciates a good camel toe?

I actually have no opinion.

I had an opinion a few years back...I'm now no longer holding an opinion...

If I had an opinion...I'd share it...but I don't have one.

Call me...I'll espouse mine.

Wah wah....

I only wear my fetish wear when going to a fetish party, fetish club, scening and training sessions.

Moi? Fit for any occasion, Levi's button fly 501 blues, loose shirt,
tucked in to to display the bulge, hanging out when humility rules,
tennies for running amok, as a pet often does. i wear my fetish

Don't look at me, I'm the one who regularly shows up at play parties in a Hawaiian shirt, khaki shorts, and sandals.

Heels I'll wear anywhere and any time it goes with my outfit.  Leather and corsets....if it covers my nipples, I'm as likely to wear it out to a night club as anything else I wear.  Slut clothes I reserve for play or parties since I'm too old not to look silly in a vanilla setting.

I do love leather. Only on a rare occasion do I get to wear My leather pants or chaps when riding My  Motorcycle. (Rather warm here in Fla.) But for an event I'll wear it. Leather pants, leather vest, and a leather blazer with a nice shirt worn as a 3 piece. Thank God for air conditioning! If it got cooler here I'd wear it for everyday as well.
My little girl absolutely loves her corsets and has several. I don't think she'd get away wearing one for everyday. (Society and all...) But if she could, she would.
