I used to work for a company out in the boonies. We had Hughesnet satellite internet. It, in a worked, SUCKED!
It is slow, it times out, when it rains you have no access at all, (and in southeast Texas, it rains a LOT). I'd try the Verizon Wireless service, if I were you.

OK for those of you stuck with satellite Internet all i can say is I'm sorry. On a serious note it all comes down to the installer in the end. The 3 things that knock out your dish are rain fade (sheets of rain washing over the dish) Electrical storm (cloud with a charge in it between your dish and the one in outer space and a Ice cloud ( cloud with ice crystals in it between your dish and the one in outer space) For the rain fade simply Rain-X your dish or put a rain cover over it. All systems have a signal point you can lose x amount of signal and things still work fine go below that point and everything stops. Making sure the installer gets the dish aimed for the best possible signal is a huge step to making things work longer and faster. Also making sure the correct wiring and fittings are used instead of cheap crap makes a difference. If there are any questions anyone has feel Free to ask i hold a level one certification for most of the systems that have been talked about.
