You know sometimes as soon as you wake up that you are going to have a bad day...
I was woken up around 9 by my wonderful noisy neighbor. Kitten and I had gone out last night to see the White Stripes, so we didnt get back in until after 2, so I was already not happy. The neighbor on my right is a crack head. He doesnt even attempt to hide it most of the time. He has come over and talked oto me about waiting for his cocke dealer friends to come back since they took his cash and had to leave to get his 'product'. He has also ranted about losing $20 bucks to the dealers when he handed them cash and they never came back. This is the same guy that explained every time I went to the tenant association about him as "Oh, she didnt mean it, we had a lovers quarrel and she was mad at me and trying to get me back."
After about an hour of yelling and screaming, I gave up getting back to sleep and decided to get somethig useful done and went and got my license changed. It needed to be done anyway since I need to reregister my car next week, so I figured Id head out early, avoid lines and come back and nap.
WELL when I got back here, the cops had the whole parking area crime-taped up. Seems dumbass from next door decided that someone stole his money and didnt bring him back his drugs and he was going to shoot them when they came back for doing this to him again. After firing a few 'warning shots', he swore loudly that he was going to shoot anyone who came into the parking lot until they brought him his drugs. His little standoff with the cops lasted hours, and I didnt get to come back to my apartment until after 4pm. At least now I know he is out of my hair....
  So, how was YOUR day?

DV,

If this is the same neighbor with the propensity towards being a bit loud during sex then I would say that two problems have been solved. Evidently crack isn't as bad as they make it out to be.

Crackheads? Here in South Carolina they just get a chain and fast pickup truck then dump them off in a 'gater hole for disposal.
And those 'gators eat *everything.*
Even the horns from a deer or goat.

wow. Thats a scary story. Thank goodness you left before the rukus. Do you ever think thoughts like, wow! I wasnt going to go do whatever today, except for that fool who woke me up too early.

What if, you changed the entire face of history by that one thing different that happend in your day? What if, you had not decided to go to the DMV? What if, had you slept till the hour you planned, and done the things you thought you would do, that by doing that,..the guy next door might have instead, freaked out over maybe... where your car was parked, decided you were the cause of his drug deal gone awry, come to your door, started yelling, then when you replied he would have pulled out a gun and shot you!

Do you ever think thoughts like that? Sure makes the day look brighter when you think about what MIGHT have been. lol

"How's it going Sophia?"
"Good, at least I wasn't in Iraq and got tossed into one of Saddam's full-sized human garbage disposals."
"Yeah,.....there's always that!"

"Yeah,.....there's always that!"

.....well that's something to be happy about, anyway.  I can relate to Sophia though.  Just recently here in Little Rock, there was a shooting at Wal-Mart.  Some teens drove up, one knocked a woman in the head and grabbed her purse, and headed back to his car waving a gun.  A crowd had gathered and he shouted to them to stay back and then fired a few random shots.  A 40 year old man had just pulled up and was getting out of his car.  A shot hit him and he was dead.  If he hadn't gone to that Wal-Mart at that exact time, he'd be alive.

So yeah....I can see why you can be happy when you think about the fact that you made a decision that meant you weren't around when tragedy struck.  Violence and tragedy is just so random.  Never know when it can strike.  Think about the people who have been all over the news channels talking about how they "should" have been on that bridge that collapsed but for some reason, they weren't and the folks who, for some reason, weren't in the buildings when the 9/11 attack happened or missed a flight that then crashed, etc.  It's always a bit comforting to look back and feel blessed that, for whatever reason, you weren't caught up in the tragedy.  Thank goodness, DV, that nothing worse happened to you and, Popeye, just keep wisecrackin' as you lay out on the beautiful beach and work on your tan.  You're always a hoot.  Win that lottery yet?..............luci

Well, I was having a pretty good day myself, just making noise in my apartment when this chick from next door comes over and starts talking about sleep or something like that. I couldn't believe it. I mean, this is the woman I poured my heart out to about the problems I was having with these coke dealers that were stealing my money. Anyway, she goes on about this "Look, dude, I need more than three hours of sleep a night," and I was just thinking to myself, "you know, I work hard all day long doing absolutely nothing but taking drugs and arguing with drug dealers, and this person comes along who probably has some 9 to 5 job instead of a real job like me, and then starts complaining because I'm up at 3am doing the important kinds of things I do at 3am.

So, anyway, during the night, someone stole my money, and I realized that I had to do something about it, so I did what any person with common sense, and a coke habit would do, and I started shooting up the parking lot. At first, I was just shooting randomly, but then the lines in the parking lot started yelling at me, so I started yelling back, and I figured I got a gun, and the lines just got lines, so I kept shooting, and next thing I know the cops are standing outside yelling about how they're taking the side of the lines instead of mine...

And then I see her standing out there with the cops, and I realize this is probably because of her and that whole sleep thing, so I start yelling that I'm not letting anyone into the building until the lines stop yelling at me, and next thing I know, it's 4am, and I already have to get up to start my day of taking coke and yelling at the girl who is most definitely going to be making noise at 6am when she gets up and starts preparing for work.

I swear. Some people just have no care for anyone else. So, yes, I understand about having a bad day.

You don't have to sign up, and for a limited time offer, the first one is free.

Hell, those sound like wedding vows for the couples who end up on Jerry Springer.

My day just started seeming a little better...

Reminds me of my time in the "Tweekerville Gardens" apt. complex.  Twice, I woke up to the cops threatening to kill someone right outside my bedroom window.

Don't be so sure about "problem solved," unfortunately.  The one who looked like Manson on steroids, with the Rambo knife, was back in his apartment 4 days later.
