May I ask how the medication you were taking affected your ability to feel? And was it an SSRI?

I didn't feel much of anything at all. Neither euphoric nor dysphoric. Aside from momentary aggression and a bit of tachycardia at times...I was rather meh on pretty much everything. More of a disaffected/disassociative type of feeling than anything. I was prescribed Paxil or Paroxetine Hydrochloride so most definitely an SSRI. When I mentioned these side effects he thought that perhaps I had a hypersensitivity to the drug itself due to my previous avoidance of almost all forms of medication. I am rather hypersensitive to OTC medications such as nyquil or Theraflu as well.

Ironic as it may seem. My Merc manual talks about the increase in serotonin levels via the use of SSRIs. Serotonins (and tryptamines)are what I've always associated with euphoria or happy happy joy joy feelings. So I'm intrigued by dichotomy of "inability to feel love" in conjunction with the use of SSRI's. There is also quite a bit of information on anorgasmia as well.Which to me would be read as an inability to feel pleasure. Not necessarily "love".
