HELLO don't  know if this queastion has been asked just wandering is everyone in this lifestyle for the pleasure or pain what are you more looking for and for pain how far do you go for someone. Thank you

Well hopefully we're all in it for the pleasure of being ourselves.

Yup, what LA said. I know people in D/s that never engage in BDSM. They engage in purely the power dynamic. I know others that engage in strictly BDSM. They have no interest in being submissive or dominant.

Imagine its very personal for every individual. I would also imagine its as varied as each individual as to how far they will go as far as pain.

I'm in this for the pleasure and the personal satisfaction I drive from this lifestyle. Pain is only one avenue I seek to find my fulfillment. So when I am seeking, I seek nother who's interests are akin to mine and yet is able to challenge me to be more then what I am now. I will go as far as I need to without destroying the esscence of who I am as person.

Very interesting question, I wonder why a lot of people find themselves reducing this lifestyle to one word answers. (for example "i am Dom, I am sub, I am switch) 
I personally believe there is such a wide spectrum of things involved in this that ultimately its LIFE.
So is it pleasure, Hell yeah, is it Pain..YEP, (here's my long rant)
Its about love, hate, pain, pleasure, the little oos and ahhhs, the climatic high, the closing of the eyes and squirming in my seat, the way i feel achy after a good rough night, watching bruises, cuts, and welts heal, embracing in the arms of my sweaty Master as we pass out in a sweet slumber, pushing myself beyond any limits, being at the mercy of my Master and where he wants to go, Its about the looks and stares from the vanilla people who just don't get it, its about how to make ANYTHING into a sex toy, Its about finding that little quivering knob and crushing it as the body melts into an orgasm, its about the humiliation, its about punishments, the laughter, tears, the cries of pain, the times Master licks the tears from my cheeks and holds me. Its the embarassing time of being bound up completely and snot flowing out of my nose, its the akward moments where your body betrays you...its about all these things and so much more..Its..LIFE!!!

I'm in it for the everything, I give pleasure I get pleasure but that doesnt necessarily have anything to do with pain or sex there is a huge mental aspect of it for me as well.

One Thanksgiving, my mom asked me if I wanted pumpkin pie, apple pie or pecan pie for desert. I asnwered "yes please." She asked "which one?" I said "yes please" once more. She put a slice of them all on my plate.

I got exactly what I wanted.The apple pie was sweet with exactly the kind of apples I love. The pumpkin pie was.. well.. pumpkiny and I just love that. And well, the pecan pie was just perfect. That year, I think I'd have missed something wonderful if I hadn't had some of each of those pies.

And that's how I feel about your question. If I didn't have the pain AND the pleasure, I'd feel I was missing something wonderful.

So, in answer to your question, I can only say "yes please."

I enjoy doing it for every aspect of it. The power exchange, and since I am a masochist the pain is pleasure to me.  I do it for being me.
