Status: offline 		My sister, who is a professional stylist, and I were talking about this very topic just last night.  She said that for men, she always used a demi-permanent color.  It seems to last longer for men than it does women and men prefer it because it just fades away, rather than having that wonderful sprouting of what she insistently calls new growth as opposed to "roots".

Status: offline 		I tried Just for Men once and had my hair professionally dyed once (last year).  Neither lasted more than three weeks and the results were disappointing.  I'm happily greying and wouldn't ever dye again.

Status: offline 		I personally think his date was enamored by the fact that some guy offered to take her out...and she's hoping maybe he will be willing to take her away from what she considers her poor excuse for an unfair teenage life...and she could really care less for what color his hair is...but then thats only my opinion of the situation and who am I to judge...allthough I obviously do..but hey...anyway...the guy wants his hair dyed, Sir told me to do it and make it look good..and thats what im going to attempt to do.

Status: offline 		Advise him to go to a professional colorist.  The home jobs always look glaring obvious that they are a dye job.  Also, is he willing to keep it touched  up?
 
I'd be more turned off at an obvious "dye job" than I would a few grey hairs.

Status: offline 		Well, Ghita...just remember to do the entire length of his hair, use a demi-permanent so that it will wash out and take him color shopping with you.  Then, when you have him in the chair with the towel around his shoulders and the newspapers on the floor ...

Make him sign a release that absolves you from any responsibility if he hates it!

Status: offline 		Ok, we just got finished with the dye job, and if I do say so myself, I think it looks pretty good. Now I told him to go shave off his mustache cause its all grey too. We used this ion stuff from Sally's, and did it a light to medium brown and it came out real nice, didnt dye his scalp or anything. It didnt cover quite ALL of the grey, but I think it made it look better than if it was all one color compleatly...more natural looking ya know

My friend answered, "Celebrate it."
