Ok I heard that in this book two (good people) die and one gets a reprieve. I personally think the relationship between Ron and Hermione has been building not so they end up together, but because one will die protecting the other. With the said, Hermione dies protecting Ron. I also thing Hagrid will die some how. And Cedric Diggory will come back...you'll all see :p

Ya know, Ron might surprise U/us!  I'll bet he has a magic talent hidden that will come roaring out.  I hope that blonde headed kid takes it.  Can't think of his name. I agree W/we may loose Hagrid.

Draco Malfoy is the blond headed snotty boy. I think Neville will come out as a hero some how. It would be sad but Hagrid might die trying to protect some of the kids. I just hope Snape doesn't die, he is my favorite.

Good or evil, I truly believe that Snape will die. I think Ron may be the 'reprieve' of which JK Rowling spoke. I don't think Draco is going to bite it.. way to much potential for redemption there but no way in hell is Daddy Lucius coming out of this one in tact. Rowling said that two major characters will die, but I think a lot of minor ones will die as well. Bellatrix LaStrange killed by Neville, Lupin killed protecting Harry and/or Tonks killed protecting Lupin, Mad-Eye might get avada kadavered and please, please.. Professor Umbridge killed by anyone!  I'll know for sure in 11 hours 19 mins plus the time it takes me to read the book and stand in line waiting to buy it. ;)

Oh yes Umbridge! I hope she dies a horrid, slow death. I wanted to strangle her myself in the last movie.

Forget the movie.. i wanted to strangle her through the whole book! From the actress that i saw playing her, she didn't seem to do her justice. I haven't seen the movie yet, so someone PLEASE tell me she does her character at least some justice by playing it at least half way dicient like it was in the book???

As far as who dies..... maybe Auntie will.  Remember she's suppose to play a major role in this book? (If I remember reading correctly)

Imelda Staunton, who was amazing as Vera Drake, did Umbridge more than justice in my opinion. She captured her perfectly! Her combination of sickly, sweet PC and vicious cunt was one of the best parts of the movie.  I loved her in it.. hence, her need to die in book 7!

Haha Umbridge is definitely coming back. I don't think he'll die though. I was so pissed Quidditch wasn't in the 5th movie! They totally tossed the storyline about Ron being keeper :( lol. Aunt Petunia is supposed to play a role...but I heard she isn't a Squib...so I dunno wtf is up with her. We also get to find out how Dumbledore ended up with James' Invisibility Cloak and I read somewhere that the concept of Harry having his mother's eyes is important.

I've read that as well and I do believe it comes straight from the horses mouth, JK Rowling herself. It's been a stumper to me and only recently have I come up with something which is plausible without being too over the top. I think Lily may have pulled a bit of a Voldemort and gave ol' Harry a piece of her soul. If done for good rather than evil perhaps it wouldn't be something tainted.

Just a thought.. and I'm most likely so far off base with it that it's not even funny!

That's the most plausable explination i've seen yet.  As far as Auntie is concerned.. i have a feeling that perhaps she was a witch herself, but wasn't a very good one, and when Lilly got accepted into Hogwarts, she swore it didn't exisit... and repressed it all this time? As far as Umbridge... now i can't wait to see the movie... she drove me litterly nuts in the book... i could just hear the character speaking..and it drove me batty...

I hated the movie. It was just too cut down from the book. I hope the last two movies are brought closer to the book's plots even if they run 3 hours.

I thought Umbridge wasn't nearly petty enough in the movie. In the movie she is a nasty vindicative piece of work with that sickly sweet facade tacked on as if it would fool anyone. The only thing about her portrayal in the movie I liked was the cat plates she put up in her office. A whole wall of these slightly creepy cats all moving around at the same time just blew the doors of OTT cutesy.

I have, and I think BitaTruble has too. Looking forward to talking about it, but have held off on posting so as not to spoil anyone else's reading.

What JK Rowling Said
"I have never been tempted to kill him[Harry] off before the final book because I've always planned seven books, and I want to finish on seven books. I can completely understand, however, the mentality of an author who thinks, 'Well, I'm gonna kill them off because that means there can be no non-author-written sequels. So it will end with me, and after I'm dead and gone they won't be able to bring back the character' "
There you have it, proof positive that Harry could very well not live throught the wizard war. I really hope he does not die, but he could and JK Rowling doesn't have a problem doing it.
"The final chapter is hidden away, although it's now changed very slightly," she said in an interview broadcast on Monday on Britain's Channel 4. "One character got a reprieve, but I have to say two die that I didn't intend to die."
This means at least two characters die in book 7, not just two. The media seems to be mixing this bit up. There will be many more deaths.
"Voldemort's fear is death, ignominious death. I mean, he regards death itself as ignominious. He thinks that it's a shameful human weakness, as you know. His worst fear is death"
And I think he should live out his worst fear after all he has done - how about you?
''A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don't target extras do they? They go for the main characters. Well, I do.''
So there will be main characters in Harry Potter 7 that die, whether or not it's your favorite character that dies or not, we'll have to wait and see. It was also stated by the United States editor that he 'sobbed and sobbed', the book is said to be very emotional.
So, Who Dies?
Here is a list of each character remaining in the books as we get to them on the rumor index. In each we look at whether or not we feel they may live or die. Of course not everyone dies, that much we know and Voldemort can't win, right? We hope so! If you have any ideas one anyone's death, please feel free to email it to me.
Snape's Potion Book Leads to His Death
In Harry Potter 7, the Deathly Hallows, Harry knows that Snape is the Half Blood Prince and Snape has returned to the Dark Lord, therefore he is going to want to look through that potion book again. There are things he is going to remember about it and he cannot remember fully. We know this because we know two things for sure...
Will Draco Malfoy die?
I think it is pretty much guaranteed that Draco Malfoy dies in Harry Potter book 7, the Deathly Hallows. He defied the Dark Lord. There is not much more you have to do to get yourself killed in the Harry Potter Series.
Who will kill Bellatrix?
Bellatrix will not make it through Harry Potter book 7, there is not way that someone that evil will be allowed to continue on. Neville has been working up to being able to kill her since the beginning of the Harry Potter series, do you think it could be him that does it?
Does Voldemort Kill Lucius?
There are no redeeming qualities in Lucius as far as the Dark Lord is concerned, except that he may be able to use him. I wonder though if Lucius Malfoy will even make it into the Harry Potter 7 book? I hope so, even if it is just a death scene.
Do Tonks and Lupin Die?
Now that they have found each other, will they die together? Could their love story be like so? Some are saying that its either Lupin of Tonks who die in Harry Potter 7. I wonder who it could be.
Are Any of the Weasley Clan Going To Die?
In Harry Potter 7, does any of the Weasley clan die? It's a good questions. JKR has said that there will be deaths and they will be hard. This is a fight against evil, everyone cannot not expect to live.
Hagrid Dies and the Veil
There would have to be one hec of a spell to kill a giant!
WormTail will Kill Lupin
This rumor was crushed on JK Rowlings website, but it was pretty good. I do believe, however that Lupin will be one of the ones to lose his life in Harry Potter 7. I hope he dies a hero, he deserves something after being handed such an awful life.

I was sorely tempted to stand outside Borders on release night with a sign listing the deaths, but decided not to for fear of being lynched by crazed Potter fans...

It is a hefty death toll. Albeit mostly helped by the big pile of 'misc' corpses.
