ELKTON, Md. -- A jilted lover who wrote a book of lies about his former girlfriend, then distributed it to her workplace and family, owes her $52,000 for defamation, a Cecil County jury decided.

Charles W. Azain, 56, said he was despondent over his 2004 breakup with the plaintiff, Bonnie Gifford. He wrote a 54-page manuscript called "The Bonnie Chronicles," where he falsely accused her of having HIV and bipolar disorder.

he went about it wrong

It only takes one little whisper spoken in the right ear to trash a reputation

he could have created a temporary ID, logged on at a public terminal & sent this out to the same people... results would have been the same & he wouldn't owe a dime

Besides... printing crap now is so not "green" save a tree [;)]

To be serious, they always say "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned", but I've seen men get really whacked out and do some pretty crazy shit when they get jilted. 

One that comes to mind was a jr. hi. school principal I dated a few years back.  He had a whole library of erotic stories he'd written where the main characters and women he'd dated.  Every time they broke up with him, he wrote a story about them with some real bizarre and unpleasant ending for their eternity.  I always wondered what mine contained.....[8|]

He became so enraged when I broke it off (and I was as gentle as I could be!) that I had to eventually threaten to take all the nasty and threatening emails he kept sending from various email addresses and go to the local police and the school board of the district he worked for.  That finally shut him up.

It saddens me when people need to be vindictive and nasty because they have been hurt in some way.

We all have the right to decide whom we want to be with in this life... it is just very sad that someone was so lacking within themselves that they had to attack another human being like this instead of just releasing it to the Universe and moving on.

I could never understand why people don't just want to make a "clean break" and start anew.
There (ARE) plenty of fish in the sea.
