The Young Republican Chickenhawks Convention
http://www.alternet.org/blogs/video/57328/

In conversations with at least twenty College Republicans about the war in Iraq, I listened as they lip-synched discredited cant about "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here." Many of the young GOP cadres I met described the so-called "war on terror" as nothing less than the cause of their time.

(snip)

Like the current Republican leaders who skipped out on Vietnam, the GOP's next generation would rather cheerlead from the sidelines for the war in Iraq while other, less privileged young men and women fight and die.

Actually, you might be totally stupid...

I am not sure how these college Republicans were lipsynching, was there a recording that they were pretending to talk with?
You probably meant parroting.
Interesting that you can't see that terrorism is a major problem, if not the major problem in the world today. Who are you "lipsynching" to?
I suppose the fact that Bill Clinton avoided serving in the armed forces is not a factor to you? Probably why he did nothing to fight terrorism.
And you probably don't know that there is not a draft anymore. These "less priviledged" men and women are fighting and dying because they believe that what they are doing is important to this country, and to the world as well. But of course you probably just think they are stupid.

Care to share with the room why these stalwart patriot Republicans arent over in Iraq fighting the good fight to keep America safe from terrorism?

They must have MORE IMPORTANT things to do, while others kill and die in their name.

In other words: PUSSIES.

Churro, you're not "stupid" by a longshot. I've seen your posts in here and you seem very intelligent.
It was the same way when I was young and we had something called "Vietnam."
Working class guys like me went into the Military and in the wealthy town next to me the sons of doctors, lawyers, businessmen went universities or....in the National Guard because "Daddy knew someone."
And those are the same young men who dodged their country's call in the 1960's who think they're "leaders" now because why?
Because they went to a college or university?
What does schooling have to do with Leadership?
Or like the Kennedys and Bush's, because they have money?
Somewhere in Virginia they have a "Boot Camp" school for guilty rich guys who didn't go into the Military.
CEO's, Doctors, Lawyers that type.
They yell at them, make them stand at attention, run 5 miles, do pushups till they puke, eat shitty food and shit in the woods and those schmucks pay Big Bucks for two weeks of that shit! lolol!
Geraldo Rivera is the biggest wanna be on TV.
"I love the Marines!"
"I love the Sailors!"
"I love the Soldiers!"
"I love the Air Men!"
"I love the Coast Guardsmen!"
Where the fuck was he in the 1960's?
Was it Columbia Law School?
He had his chance to go.
Guys like him and Clinton and most of Bush's cabinet were fuckin' AWOL!

Every time you post I just laugh at you. Are these actually your real opinions, or is it a clever lampoon of someone with those kinds of opinions?

THEIR President has called on THEM to serve.

Of course, it's not IMPORTANT ENOUGH for the Bush Kids to enlist, either... I wonder if they have a "Medical Issue", too?

Yes, terrorism is a major contemporary problem; according to the Washington Post (July 9th 2007):

"The estimates of how many innocent Iraqis have died since the American invasion vary widely but average out somewhere between 75,000 and 100,000. Think of a town near you with a comparable population, and you get some feeling for what a horrendous number that is. Iraq is a perfect example of what happens to civilians in a counter insurgency war. The insurgents deliberately target civilians to prove that the government in power is unable to protect them, and the counter insurgents -- in this case, American soldiers and Marines -- try to protect civilians until the government in power is capable of doing so on its own."

Indeed, terrorism is a very contemporary problem.

Of course, the US isn't protecting ANYONE in Iraq, are they?

Nope.

That's because it's not their job. *WE* have a 2nd Amendment so we don't NEED to be, like some pathetic Socialists, "Protected".

I am trying to think of something that I care about less than your opinion of me. I can't think of anything.
It is funny that because I have a different opinion than you do, you can't believe I actually believe what I am saying. How open minded of you.

.....and does that military ban 'stalwart patriot Republicans' from joining up? Or are they allowed to put their money-makers where their mouth is?

The annals of history will show who the "real" dumb asses are.

Much like the:

Gulf of tonkin
kennedy assasination
northbrook

to name the undeniably obvious

Terrorism is a huge problem, but its not performed by little guys running around with ak's now days.

Its preformed by governments with secret agencies both on governments and the people of the governments, including their own.

Everyone is just to blind or in denial to see it.

The cia openly admits to overthrowing governments around the world.  (but they are on "OUR SIDE"  ..............right??????)   :)
