popeye1250 -> Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 2:10:44 PM)

I was thinking that I could probably make a fortune selling "Global Warming Uniforms" you know, kind of like those home made Star Trek costumes that the trekkies have only mass produced.
I'd need a lot of that shiney silver cloth that's thick but bends well though.
The "Global Warming Uniforms" would help people who like that stuff find each other like the Trekii Uniforms but I could put in a "protective" layer too, you know, to "keep out the gamma rays."
And not just tin foil either but something nice for the "warming believers."

Lordandmaster -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 2:16:25 PM)

All the hot air on Collarme contributes greatly to global warming.

pahunkboy -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 2:19:51 PM)

the booger man is gonna get me!

i for one, look forward- to lower heating bills on my house!  I am sick and tired of paying the utilies overpriced money just to keep warm!!

in the end, warming is a good thing.

popeye1250 -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 2:20:00 PM)

I don't know why but it seems like something like this would have to be made out of "silver" cloth.
Oh, and they'd have to have helmets to go with the "Global Warming Uniforms" too!
I could get used helmets from highschool football teams when they're done with them!
Paint them silver and put some kind of pointy thing on the back or top of them.
And of course some kind of "protective lining in them like the uniforms.

popeye1250 -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 2:26:54 PM)

Pa Hunk, no problem! Just buy one of my "Global Warming Uniforms" for $499 (Helmet sold seperately) and you won't need any heat as long as you don't take it off!
I think the silver color would deflect some kind of "rays" back out into outer space to "cool the earth off."
Hey! I could donate one to Al Gore! That would really make sales take off!
I could have advertisements on TV for them too.
"Mom, I'm going down to the store!"
"Not without your Popeye's Protective Global Warming Uniform (R) you're not young man!"

Cyber, Global Warming people are more sophisticated than that!
You wouldn't see them wearing a simple tin foil hat like the people in Boston did for the Democratic National Convention.
My marketing research shows that they'd be more amenable to wearing helmets.

Tarisa -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 2:58:49 PM)

thinking or more like hoping they are just for men.  I'd hate to see a global uniform for a woman

pahunkboy -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 3:28:05 PM)

well- invest in pepsi and coke....

it occurred to me=- the population would be hornier- hence more sex!

SeeksOnlyOne -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 3:47:58 PM)

dont forget to make em easy access for bathroom use too......perhaps one of them flaps like in the long underwear.......magnets instead of buttons.....will you be offering them in fat chick sizes?[:D]

Oh no! There'd be women's versions too![sm=preen.gif][sm=preen.gif]
Skintight pants with zipout crotch.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 7:36:59 PM)

Ummm...no uniform in the world is going to solve that problem.

I really, really want a tinfoil helmet.

The sad thing is that I was going to type that sentence before I even read the above response.

Naked, I'm sure we could hook you up with a tinfoil hat!
Come to think of it the GWU helmets would look better all shiney like tin foil wouldn't they?
Oh, and I wonder why you see those "Chew Bacca" costumes at Star Wars get togethers? That was from Star WARS not Star Trek!
Go to this site and see what this guy has to say about Global Warming! He's one of the smartest around on the subject in Boston! I think he went to M.I.T.
www.theguyfromboston.com

Look for his treatise on global warming.

Remember the radio active silver suits the professor made on Gilligans Island. If only he could have fixed a couple of 6 inch holes in a boat.
I use to work in a freezer building it was 30 below. The freezer suit did a good job keeping you warm. It claimed to insulate against heat also. I am sorry when you went out in the 95 degree weather to have a smoke, it was too hot. It came off fast.

Marc2b -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/19/2007 10:42:09 PM)

If the Earth is warming why will we need to use uniforms?  Won't we all be able to walk around naked?

Actually we could, if society would let us.  But remember the textile industry --- those poor folks will lose a tremendous amount of business if there are no clothes to sell.  From the cotton pickin' cotton pickers to the seamstresses toiling with bleeding fingers to the clothing outlets and department stores, many people would be put out of work.  Just what would they do?  Put in for welfare?  And where would they carry the check?  We are not marsupials, last time I checked.

On the other hand, the increased demand for dermatologists, surgeons, chemotherapists, nurses, sun screen manufacturers, umbrella makers, and select other occupations might offset that sudden loss of textile related work.

On the other --- errrr --- I'm out of hands.  <shrug>  Gonna be fun to ride this one out until the next ice age is predicted.  Last time that happened was in the '70s, as I remember it.

Jacobthm -> RE: Global Warming Uniforms (7/22/2007 12:06:24 PM)

If you're going to make the uniforms ensure that you throw in the tinfoil hats! Gota keep the goverment thought control sattelites out of our heads.
