Bride is arrested after attacking groom with her shoe in hotel room

LONDON (AP) - Scottish bride Teresa Brown's dream of a perfect wedding day probably did not include attacking the groom with her stiletto shoe and spending the weekend in a cell.

Police arrested the 33-year-old in the couple's hotel room in April while her wedding reception continued downstairs, prosecutor Alan Townsend said Tuesday at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. She spent the rest of her wedding weekend in a cell.

The distraught groom, Mark Allerton, 40, staggered to the front desk, clutching a bloody towel to his head, Townsend said.

"He indicated that his wife had struck him over the head with a stiletto heel," the prosecutor said.

Police found Brown, a real estate agent's assistant, sitting on the hotel room bed, surrounded by broken glass.

Brown told police she and her husband had "been accusing each other of different things," the prosecutor said, without going into details. Brown said she hit him on the head because he had taken a hold of her, he added.

Brown's lawyer Stuart Beveridge said the newlyweds began throwing things at each other after an argument in their room turned physical. He said Brown had been on antidepressants at the time and had been drinking.

"She and her husband are still together although this incident has not helped," he said, adding she is receiving counseling.

Sheriff James Tierney let Brown off on the assault charge with a warning and fined her 250 pounds ($505) for damaging the hotel room and ordered her to pay the hotel 500 pounds ($1,150) in compensation.

Hilton Treetops said in a statement that they were happy the case has closed.

"This has been a very unusual case," the hotel said.

Geez..........just imagining what her feet must have felt like after wearing stiletto heels and having to stand up for hours at the reception, dancing and smiling.... I'd probably be beating him over the head with the danged things, too, if he said the wrong thing. It was probably something stupid, too, like, "hey, babe, before you get undressed, run back down to the reception and get me some more champagne and cake." That would probably have tripped the circuits, right there.

Honestly if I was the guy involved in that scenario...
I would immediately find a lawyer and get an annulment and put that womans ass to the curb... marriage is about love and not abuse... that door swings both ways.

editted for additional details

Mind you I would not have been throwing things in the first place

Haaaaaaaaaa Billy Idol, a man after my own heart (who incidentally went  to the same university as myself - Sussex - albeit to study a completely different subject. And in a very different era...)... Billy, I will quote your 'White Wedding' lyrics, because your dropping out of your sociology degree was SO spot on, so much of its times, and so... p:u:n:k:i:s:h:

Hey little sister what have you done?
Hey little sister who's the only one?
Hey little sister who's your superman?
Hey little sister who's the one you want?
Hey little sister shot gun!

It's a nice day to start again,
It's a nice day for a white wedding,
It's a nice day to start again!

Well now...I guess it's a good thing I think along the same lines as you [:)]

I also would not put up with anyone that would let an argument get to that sort of escalation on a night so special, the moment abuse came into the picture they would be either left by Myself or they would be leaving on the point of My boot.

You are supposed to cherish your lifemate, and to even start throwing things at each other is reprehensible behavior between loved ones IMO.

I have to admit though I am not surprised the bride was scottish, as One who has some scot Herself...I can understand the temperment. [8D]

I bow my head in shame. For the life of me, it eludes me why a nation ensconced in such a cold, unpleasant climate with such a shitty history manages to produce such hotheads. But there you have it. Irvine Welsh, where are you when we need you, you cunt?!

sublimelysensual -> RE: Bride attacks groom with stiletto heel (7/16/2007 7:42:26 PM)

What a waste of a stiletto..at least if she'd used a lamp she wouldn't have ruined a perfectly good pair of shoes...

Wow, these two did not even make it past the "honeymoon stage" before plunging into physical violence and mayhem.
Its a safe bet that they will have the local police department on speed dial and that they will be in and out of jail and the court system for the rest of their lives.
And God/dess help any children they may bring into this world! [&:]

One has to understand the Scots, you know?

Aside from the scenery, and save for emigrating to England, there is fuck all else to do in Scotland but drink and fight. Its very much similar in Ireland.

Independence for Scotland now!

Maybe then we can reduce the alcoholism problem in England by sending all these foreigners home too.

the week before this happened a woman beat her boyfriend with her high heeled shoe at a local club. my 14 yo thought it was hilarious that a shoe can be used as a weapon.(she has a weird sense of humor too). so , this happens everywhere. even in the midwest. they did not say what her ancestry was or if it was a stiletto.
p.s. its named after a wicked weapon after all
