I just installed Norton Internet Security 2007 and now every time I click off of my yahoo home page, this window pops up that says MSNBhoPump: iexplore.exe - Application Error, then below that it says The instruction at 0x037738aw referenced memory at 0x0388ae64. The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program. Although I can run other applications, there is no way to get rid of the annoying box without restarting and then it's fine until the next time I click out of my yahoo home page. I ran a full system virus scan and nothing came up. I also ran a registry scan to fix registry errors and it's still happening. I tried to call Norton since I didn't have this problem before I installed the program. I was on hold for an hour and still nobody answered. Does anyone know what type of error this is and how to fix it?

Has anyone else had this problem after installing Norton?

Give this a shot:

"Go to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, choose MSN Toolbar and then remove it there."

I tried that and now the message has changed to My Yahoo! - Microsoft Internet Explorer: iexplore.exe - Application Error then under that The instruction at "0x62308e19" referenced memory at "0x03962090". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program

You been a bad girl.

Use favorite places, do not let any toolbars or anything ever load into your iexplore. If you're like most people you probably have a mail toolbar and all this shit up there. Hint : Any and all of this can simply be in favorite places.

Norton's is killing a connection to one of your browser "enhancements". This is because it doesn't see it as something you want, but this particular "enhancement" is written to crash the browser if it cannot connect.

You are here though, so the browser obviously does work. At this point it might be a good idea to go to microsoft, well, Windows Update, and have it scan for browser updates. Of course then you might have to wrestle with Norton a bit to get it to allow a browser update.

There is nothing worse than programs that do not unintstall cleanly, but it is still worth a try. If Microsoft and Norton don't have any updates for you, try uninstalling stuff. Actually if you are going to start uninstalling toolbars, just use them and bookmark the page when you get there. Get everything you want and get rid of all of them. Then you get more screen real estate for what you want to see. And usually your browser will load faster.

I say the No button is the most important. Any time it says "Do you wish to ......" say NO. There are very few exceptions.

Give it a try, see how it goes. Good luck. Now whee's that Linux CD ?

Next step... Uninstall Yahoo toolbar!

I had the same problem with my old windows 98........... it was msn and yahoo running together, for me anyway.  MSN is my homepage so it conflicted every time I wanted to open up yahoo, email or webpage or messenger.
Norton is the peculiar party...not msn or yahoo.

I uninstalled Norton 3 times and it finally solved the program.

Sir's girl who really knows jack shit about PC's.
