i'm not sure if i even spelled this correctly. But i've been hearing this term quite frequently with one of my closest friends. With the Dom that i am currently with, my friend (who has also been over and played with both of us once), has said that he's only into coss play. What does this mean? [8|]

Cute.. I had never heard of people dressing as anime.  Sounds fun for a while.  Maybe from a bdsm viwpoint they are thinking of Manga instead of just the amime style?  I have some cartoon porn which has bondage, golden, and forced activities.  LOL they are one twisted lot of cartoons.

In it's pure form, Cosplay has nothing to do with S&M per se; On the other hand, how often do you find people wanting to find slave costumes and similar things to use in scene? Used as a general term, Cosplay covers a lot of the more theatrical roleplay sorts of scenarios where folks get dressed up and play out a very specific fantasy. (Personally, I some times refer to the generic black leather uniform as it's own style of cosplay. Some folks just can't get freaky unless they're dressed in the right costume)

LOL what do collars have to do with bdsm unless you put someone in pain with them or use them for attachment points in bondage? 

It's true that there are a lot of mini-groups under the "kink umbrella" that are not directly bdsm related, and it's hard to see what a guy whacking off to some bondage porn online has to do with a leatherman shoving his cock into a boy down at a bar, but that's why it's all just "kinky."

Likely some of the first Cos play was Batman and Wonder Woman costumes, All those wonderfull toys in the utility belt and that golden lasso, LOL

Actually much of the stuff in old DC and Marvel Comics was more than a little hidden kink.
