So I'm sitting at home thursday, minding my own business, ankle propped up like a good girl (don't ask). The phone rings and long story short, I need to leave immediately to pick up my um (8-9 hr drive each way, depending on stops).

There's a Dom here who I've been speaking with for about 3 weeks or so, online and via telephone, probably a couple of hours a day. I call to let Him know what's going on, get His opinion of the situation..in other words, vent..lol. To shorten a long story (aren't they always long when an ex is involved?? lol) He says He'll call once I get on the road. I was pleasantly surprised/overwhelmed, that throughout the trip, He called every hour to two hours, to check on me, make sure I was alert, make sure I had stopped to stretch the ankle, see how far along I was on the road etc. Once I had picked up the um, He continued to do so, up to the point of calling at 130am, when I told Him I would more than likely stop to get a hotel room for the night. He did the same thing today on my way home.

I would mention a name, but am afraid of the post getting deleted, and would not do so without asking Him first. So, the thread has two points, one..to publicly thank Him (somewhat), and show Him how much I appreciate what He did for me by being there in that manner, something no one in my family, or in a past relationship has ever done; and two to find out..has anyone else had an experience similar to this, where someone has just gone totally and completely above and beyond what you ever expected?

* I wasn't sure where to post this since it can't go on the positive experiences thread (we haven't met..yet), and didn't really seem to belong on the bdsm thread either..so here it is*

still feeling extremely lucky to have Him in my "circle"....

The dog of somebody I was with once brought home a baby jackrabbit.

It survived a day or two, and I got a call at work (on Valentine's Day, no less) that the rabbit
had died.

Her tears tore deep and painful etches into my soul.

I called around.  I left work early.  I drove (2 hour commute) to 2 pet stores.  I found one that had a baby rabbit for sale.  I begged them to stay open until I got there.  They did.  I bought the baby rabbit.  I tipped the store clerk quite well.

As Brad Pitt so poignantly mentioned in Meet Joe Black, "Of course I am a one woman guy, she takes care of me, why wouldnt I take care of her?"

I agree with him completely.  I want somebdoy in my life who takes care of me the way I take care of her.

Me too. It's very hard to find the reciprocity, though. I'm not the type to keep a 'quid pro quo' ledger...not even close. Still, I know which way things are flowing. If there's any flow at all, that is. Good luck finding what you seek.

I agree, it's very hard to find, which is part of the reason I was so pleasantly surprised by what happened. I tend to give everything I have for the right person, and to find someone else who seems to do the same..just a wonderful feeling.

And Fargle..still laughing...
