Griswold -> Gawwwdammit!!! (7/13/2007 6:32:34 PM)

I just took my car in to the shop.

2006 Prius.  40,000 mile checkup.

$1,200 bucks, new tires and a small smudge on the windshield.

I'm buying a fucking Vega hatchback.

mnottertail -> RE: Gawwwdammit!!! (7/13/2007 6:33:29 PM)

will it do a hundred miles an hour?

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Gawwwdammit!!! (7/13/2007 6:35:27 PM)

Be glad it wasn't the battery

Knowing how much work my car needs, I think my best course of action is to find a good mechanic who needs a sub.

        Try finding a replacement fuel filter housing for a Peugeot diesel...

MstrssPassion -> RE: Gawwwdammit!!! (7/13/2007 8:33:05 PM)

WTF?

1200 bucks for tires?

Are those the new Gold-belted ones?

(I think someone took you for a ride)

primaldream -> RE: Gawwwdammit!!! (7/13/2007 8:45:18 PM)

Where are you taking your car for tires?  I have a 2003 Prius (have had it since Oct 2002 and still LOVE this car).  I haven't spent THAT much on tires the entire time I have owned the care and I just turned over 90,000 yesterday!  Can't wait for the 2009 model to come out.  Will wait until then to buy another one...Third Generation is promising 85+ miles per gallon.  With the gas savings alone, the car has been well worth the price paid.  I LOVE MY TOYOTA PRIUS HYBRID!

Zensee -> RE: Gawwwdammit!!! (7/13/2007 9:09:58 PM)

The cabbies in this town swear by the Prius. One recently told me he had saved $7,000 in gas already this year. He had over 120K on it and the brakes were still fresh.

What exactly did you pay for? Not just tyres.

       Far too late now.  That car is long since recycled.  Pity.  Something about that 504 sedan just made hippy-chicks all juicy...

Good lord and I thought I had done a lot of driving, I've only done 70k in about 6 years.

It was a 40k check up. Licence to print money. and do very little.

Change the Oil/ Oil filter, YOURSELF, and statistically all will be well.

Oh...I was just being whiny...they did more than put new tires on it...but not a whole hell of a lot more.

(I love mine too...it just seems like when they bring that little clipboard out, you need your banker with you).
