Status: offline 		Somedays these boards read like an episode of Jerry Springer. I just can't figure out if I'm doing just fine or if my life is just really boring. At any rate, I don't think I want to trade it in for the alternative.

See, I never really understood that line. My boys knew that the last thing they better bother me with was drama.....and I am sooooooo thankful I didn't have girls!

why are you thankful that you didn't have girls?  my wonderful daughter is the delight of my life & has no concept of drama in her life.....

I think it has to do with the rhyme, more than the meaning.  If "save the drama for your mamma" evokes negatives, lets try:

Save the drama for Obama!

Status: offline 		Well mostly because my experience has taught me that the drama factor significantly increases around teenage girls. That doesn't mean that ALL teenage girls are drama queens, but there certainly is a large portion of them who are. I, myself was not a dramatic teenager, which is probably why I always chose to hang out with the guys. I could just never really relate to all of the giggling, whining, attention seeking and crying.

yeah, neither could my daughter...she was an actress a singer & a dancer, so maybe that's why she didn't need it in her real life...she could project it on the stage

My dream was to have daughters when I grew up but was blessed with two sons, and now I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world!

Status: offline 		the drama level in our household is epic at times, my girls are still young, and they manage to make a big deal out of everything...which isn't the way I operate, I'm constantly saying, "just because you see people act like that on TV, it's not ok to act that way at home!!"

Status: offline 		 My daughter is no drama, no problems. Just a honor roll student with a natural talent for art. Some of my friends with sons really wish they had daughters. Because they have loads of drama. Personally I don't think sex has a thing to do with it, I think its how they are raised. In my life I do not allow drama as I have no use for it.

Status: offline 		this is true in my life also...so she was encouraged to be dramatic on stage, but not at home or anywhere else in the world...she is one of my favorite human beings alive today....

Status: offline 		I think drama is one of those words that always has a negative connotation to it - I'm not sure that's very fair.
 
I'm a self proclaimed drama queen.  "Creating" negative drama in other peoples worlds is not what i'm about but in my own world - i'm extremely dramatic.
 
I've been like this since i was a small child. I'm sensitive. Passionate. A kaleidoscope of emotions.  The tiniest things are sometimes mountains to me.  The good and the bad.  People get sad. People get happy.  Now times it by ten and that would be me.
 
Anyone who knows me would tell you that my drama is part of my charm.  Ironically,  just yesterday i said to my Master, "my boss says i'm a bit dramatic and high strung."  He responded with, "where on earth did he get that idea."  And then we smiled.  Most of the time, it's not an issue for either of us.  When it is, he tells me he's had enough of the drama - and i work harder to tone it down.  Of course, that's usually negative "drama".
 
I guess drama could entail giggling, whining, attention seeking and crying - but that isn't the way i see it.  If only i could find a better world to describe what i see here sometimes - i sure can relate to what you're speaking of. 
 
My daughter is 16 and she is always involved in everyones saga of the week.  I never describe it as drama - i describe it as irritating.
