I know this will be unpopular, but Jim Morrison was at best a two-bit poet, and a passable frontman to an otherwise superb band.

It wasn't all that much about the Performance. It was about 18 year olds getting the vote, and needing to shutdown their out-of-band channels of communication surrounding the Performance environment.

While I do disagree about Morrison, the band was, and is, phenomenal.

Hell, he was terrific in Tombstone, as well.

I disagree.  In Tombstone he played the dichotomoy of an overweight, out of shape, well taken care of man dying of a wasting disease, consumption (tuberculosis).

Compare it to Dennis Quaid in the same role.  He went on an almost starvation diet and dropped weight to something idiotic for a 6'ish tall man to around 110 pounds.  You look at him playing that role and think "Dont turn on the fan, you will blow Quaid away."

Sinergy

Have to go with Sinergy on this one. Quaid was much better as Doc Holliday. Although you have to love "I'll be your huckleberry"

I enjoyed both......... hmm, okay, who was the better Wyatt, Kevin Costner, or Kurt Russell?

Easy, Kurt Russell. Although I'm biased...I cannot stand Costner. Much like Russell Crowe and Tom Cruise...3 actors I wouldn't let someone else pay for me to go see in a movie.

I like Costner, but I agree, Russell did a better job in the role. From The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes to superstar.....[:D]

Tom Hanks in Mazes and Monsters. This conversation is over.

I always like asking people who like Kevin Costner "why"

They can never articulate it.  They can never explain why the believe he has acting skills.

Suck it up and accept your Kevin Costner homosexual desires.  Spend less on therapy later.

Oooh Level. You do so disappoint me darlin'. How can you actually like that man's (and I use that term loosely) acting? Seriously?

PS I have to add Ben Affleck to that list as well. While I adore Kevin Smith why oh why must he always use Ben Affleck.

I'd have a hard time articulating why I like most actors, beyond some vague "just because"..... hell, I think he often does a good job, he's a good, not great, actor. The Untouchables, Field of Dreams, The Bodyguard, A Perfect World, and my favorite two of his, Tin Cup and Dances With Wolves.

And then there's Waterworld, and The Postman........................ [>:]

Now excuse me, I have to file my nails before my therapy session.

Jo, we at least agree on Affleck; I have a feeling he's pining away, wishing his buddy Matt would let him do some more movies with him.

Disappoining, huh......... just focus on my thousands of good qualities [;)]

i have heard the lines  from this section of the song  "LA women"

I see your hair is burnin'
Hills are filled with fire
If they say I never loved you
You know they are a liar
Drivin' down your freeways
Midnite alleys roam
Cops in cars, the topless bars
Never saw a woman...
So alone, so alone
So alone, so alone

referred to the Bel-Air-Brentwood  fires in 1961 when i was 2 years old and lived in Orange county at the time..where over 450 residences where burned to the ground...

a good driving song.  i did not know it referred to fires.

while M was fringe- and dangled in the darkside- ild rate him good- but not best of all time...

I think the best description of Ben Affleck was one I read that stated he is an actor "Completely incapable of turning down a paying acting gig."

Most of his recent gigs seem to revolve around him playing himself.  Pity he is not even believable in that role.

LOL Whoever said that was right on the money. I so agree. After watching him on some interview show...(Actor's Studio? oh god why??? why???) I told a friend of mine, who adores him, that he comes across as if he's always acting and is simply portraying his idea of a human. You can almost see him staging it all in his head as he goes along.

"blah blah blah " *boyish charming smile* "blah blah blah" *wink conspiratorily at the audience* "blah blah blah". *pensive expression of thought to accompany deep thought quote stolen from iconic actor*.

I've heard Hollywoodland has a great storyline as far as how they handle the different possibilities of what could have happened but I just can't stand the thought of watching it and fighting nausea for that long.
