wow... i wish i would have known that before i deleted it...

it comes up in search, but it sends me to a page that says "invalid user id"

One thing that is overlooked here is that they do not need your password. All they need is a certain permission level on the servers. That means everyone is equally vulnerable.

People wonder why I never write down a phone number even. I might write it backwards, or part of it backwards and then just put the first or last letter of their middle or last name next to it. My rolodex would be useless to anyone but me. I maintain no contact lists whatsoever.

Therefore myspace is something that I just don't do. Any personal pages I put out are in my personal FTP space, and they ain't getting to that. My email does not open attachments, my browser prompts for unsigned Active X, things like that. I am serious about this shit, and I want my shit to keep running. And I don't want to send Norton a check every year. And it would be a check, I do not allow any automatic transactions of any kind for my bank account.

All this because I know they are out there. This is not a utopian society, people will take if given the chance. That is why I have a safe built into the house, locks on the doors and a column lock on my car.

Realize this, if you were truly hacked by an enemy, he would probably just threaten the President or something and get you a visit from the feds. If he truly had YOUR password and wanted to hurt you, with a half a brain that is what he would do.

The fucked up thing is he probably was a prankster, and just showing off to his friends. Stupidity. Like thieves who bust the window in your Mercedes and tear up the dash stealing a radio they cannot use because it is electronically locked once it is disconnected. They made nothing, but the damage is still done. They do not care.

Now see if we killed these people how good life could be ? We wouldn't need door locks, column locks, alarms, guard dogs. But stupidity seems to be a protected right now, near as I can figure.

It's good advice. I try to do the same, but they're hard to memorize, so I use '8dalDdR#%1a" for just about everything. (I basically hit the keyboard at random to get it, alternating with the Shift key.)
