DiurnalVampire -> Hypnosis Tips? (7/8/2007 11:39:50 PM)

I know there have been tons of threads about the morals of hypnotising a sub. I am not concerned with moral issues right now.
I am wondering if anyone knows of any sites, books, references or anything else trusted (trusted, I already did a yahoo and google search and got tons of responses and I dont know which of them I can believe and which are complete garbage) on beginners hypnotism?
I a not looking to do anything major. I want to help Angel relax. He gets very very uptight and stressed around school, and this is partly his idea. Yes, eventually he and I would like to look into deeper hypnosis ideas for planting subliminal suggestions and things of that nature. For now, for starters, I want to learn how to relax him. I've done this sort of thing before with very easy subjects, people at hypnosis shows who walk in with the midset that they are ready to be put under, so they go fast.
Angel WANTS to go under, but I need a technique that can help with someone who cant quite get to that very relaxed state first. Once he is unders, Id like ot be able to make suggetions if we discuss it ahead of time. Baby steps, though... first things first.

Any help would be appreciated. Refernces, personal ideas, success stories...

DV

I have a friend who wrote a beginners book on hypnosis.  I'll try to find it and let you know what the title is.
Something like BDSM and hypnosis?

Anyway if I can't find it I'll ask David for you.  He is actually quite good to watch or learn from.

Hypnosis: Questions & Answers is a fantastic book.  Even though it is a scholarly work, it is still fairly approachable, and it covers a wide range of subjects.  Most of the chapters in the book are articles, previously published in peer-reveiewed journals, and all the contributors are Ph.D's or M.D's with the exception of one RN and one MA.  I like the rigorous clinical focus of the book, and I feel that the work is a good overall survey work, covering a wide range of subjects within hypnosis, subject to meticulous reveiw and citation.

You might benefit from the middle chapters of the book, which cover various induction methods.  We all come up with our own most favored, most comfortable induction approaches, but I understand better know why I have a favored approach.

You cna buy it for like a dollar at Amazon, used.

Am owned by MasterHypnotist. He is certified as an instructor as well as very talented with His craft. One thing this one has discovered, is that each and every time i go into a trance it becomes easier to go deeper. Master has helped me survive my daughter passing away and deal with many mundane obstacles in real life, such as stress and pain management. (As well as create some very exciting scenes in the bed)
Know that hypnosis is only achievable with those who WANT to be in trance. And suggestions only work if the subject WANTS the end results. Master can make me orgasm with one word, but He is unable to make me quit smoking, for an example.
Yet, i can use self hypnosis to deal with stress or pain nowadays. Master and i have been together for a number of years, and i have simply applied His techniques to self. Last two times i had tattoos, i never felt the needle, for an example. This one would NEVER allow another to hypnotize me. Master has set those safeties deeply in my subconscious to protect me from any attempts from another less reputable person. Hoping these little words offer some insights as you venture into a new realm. Hypnosis is a wonderful experience, but would only want it done in the right hands. Make sense? Hope so.
Sorry, can not tell you of any books to read. Just wanted to toss in a few thought of humble self. Good luck with your ventures.

We were lucky enough to find a local group who meets regularly.  Try that.

Thanks all
I'll be checking into those titles.
He desperately wants me to be able to do this, he has fnastasized  about it since we met.  I just need to have some information before I will even attempt it. I had a few classes back in vegas with a performer and i can make someone very eager do little parlor tricks, but I dont think those sort of quick fix things are going to work with Angel.

There isn't really very much "bad" info about hypnosis. There's stuff that's debated, of course, and there are things that I, personally think are detrimental, but that's kind of about politics and the reputation of hypnosis in general.

Basically, just talk to him. Talk slow. be somewhat monotone. Try to match your phrases with his exhale. Tell him what you want him to be feeling. And you can make it up. Use some combination of things in the room, "your ass on the chair", "the background noises", and some combination of wishful thinking, "as you allow your breathing to deepen and you relax even further"...

When you can ramble on like that for 30 minutes or so, you're in business.

Thank you for starting this thread, DV. I was just thinking today that I needed to get information on hypnotism.

I became a certified hypnotist through The Hypnosis Institute here in Los Angeles. We used a book by John G. Kappas, Ph.D. called The Professional Hypnotism Manual. It is a wonderful guide and has helped me greatly in using hypnosis with my slave.

Buy the book written by Dave Elman entitled "Hypnotherapy".  Also, search for "progressive relaxation" +induction.  That'll bring up loads of exact scripts for you.  Finally, there's a website called www.hypnosis.com.  Click on "What is Hypnosis", and then "Hypnosis Scripts".

How about just teaching him some basic meditation techniques?

Like deep breathing, counting breath's, ect.
