i am still in awe at the impudence of online scammers.  It really is funny how they assume people will fall for things.  It is very, very sad that so many still do.

i've gotten about six emails on collarme just this year that have basically the same modus operandi.  Always a slave or submissive, sometimes owned or collared,  moving to my area....mother is ill, dad is dying, they just got done with several surgeries and are recooperating, just had a bad accident...etc, etc, etc,.  i usually send a polite reply and hope their trip to this fine city is good and wish them well....eventually i slip in that they arent attaining anything from me but friendship if that and they disappear.....Has A/anyone taken it farther then that with an emailer like that?

I have to play with them a few times, I was bored and fiesty, once they started asking for money, I would make up excuses, etc. I got enough info out of a few of them, telling them I COULD get a few hundred bucks together and Western Union them the money {I don't have a checking account or credit cards}, once I got the info, I called the FTC and forwarded the emails to them. Bye bye scammer.

For the most part, I do what you did, I'm polite, then I tell them, all I can offer is friendship, if they want anything else they need to find a sugardaddie. I never hear from them after that.

Thing is, they would not be doing that if someone wasn't gullable enough to fall for it. It takes 2 people for that to work.

i enjoy correcting their messages for poor sentence structures and spelling ...plus i love inquiring how they lost all that weight to be a 40yr old at 70lbs! oh and another thing - they're getting confused understanding the difference between Native American and American.  i received one today from a "dom" who was fooling around to tell me how handsome i looked in my pictures and then at the end of the message, he gave a woman's email addy.

i have to admit i do like playing with them as well....i got he sending you a large check and could you send the excess to this other company for me scam at my business last year.  They overnighted me the payment in a large, very official check.  i was to send the overage to the limo company for their transportation.  They had sent emails back and forth to me for days and i was on to it the whole time.  i took the check and copies of the emails to my bank where the police supposedly made copies of everything.  i actually doubt they did though.  They really didnt seem to care.  i still have the packet with check, etc.  as it was all returned to me. After they sent the check i only heard from them one time and told them i was waiting for the check to clear...nothing since then.

i read a post today from a Gentleman over on Ask A Master...by RWAble....."When they ask for money, I make a contribution to a charity in their name and send them a copy of the donation receipt, congratulating them on their donation. I never hear from them again; of course; but perhaps they will think twice about scamming and a charity gets a much needed cash gift."

LOL, I like to have fun with them...will usually answer them back with a flood of sympathy and launch into a tale of woe on my own side. It's quite amusing to see how they flounder about with their replies lol...

I get those all the time, mostly on Yahoo sometimes in here.
Yes, I've noticed the "70 lbs" thing too! lol
And a lot of the letters start with "I AM....." "General, Ambassador, Barrister etc.
You know those are from Africa!
I'm not nice to them at all; "Get AIDS and Die M...r F...r".
And I always report them as "spam" to Yahoo.
Last year I got a bunch of great pictures and letters for weeks from a Russian scammer who was supposedly a beautiful 23 year old woman who wanted to "come to you in America."
Of course she needed $900 as she was "short" on the plane fare.
I was to "Western Union the money." Ha,Ha!
"Ok, I Western Unioned the money!"
Next day, "No money! What happened?"
"Try again, it probably didn't get there yet!" lol
Next day; "Still no money Thomas, what is happening, you no love me?"
"Which branch did you go to?"
"Here, the local branch."
"Oh shit! I sent it to the Moscow branch of Western Union and I can't get it back!" And I put in some extra for you too, $1,500."
"But Moscow is 500 miles from here."
"There's nothing I can do, you'll have to go to Moscow, they won't give me the money back, you're the only one who can collect it!"
The next week; "I'm in Moscow! What is the "test question?"
"What "test question?"
"To get the money! They ask for name and "test question!"
"Oh, ok, the test question is, what's my cat's name, answer "Bubba."
"OK, Thankyou Thomas!"
An hour latter.
"YOU NO GOOD SOB, &%$##223!!"
"YOU SEND ME ONLY $25???"
"That's all I could afford, Boris!"
So, you CAN have some fun with them! lolol

that is better than what I have done/would do. Usually I tell them that I need the money just as badly and if they send it to me whatever deity they believe in will bless them..

i get ones from russian women too in my yahoo bulk mail seeking a free ride to America (though my russian first name doesn't seem to bother them) ...i even received one from the russian mob saying i won the lottery.

i did receive an email from a Nigerian who said he was an international businessman with 2 "kids" and they were vacationing in Africa ...or how about this one,  he was a diamond dealer-aspiring  author-speech therapist who need money to help pay for his daughter's school fees ...or this one i had today (which i reported to Hyatt corp), this "american" was offering me a job as a mail service courier to "refund" money back to people who canceled their online reservations ...i would be refunding their money in money orders or checks - however i guess the idiot didn't think i would check the site myself and read Hyatt's refund policy for online reservations.

No...but, as a male sub I'd just like to say, taking care of my very sick Mother (and of course it should go unsaid that I'm caring for both my very unwell Father as well as my 12 very feeble siblings {who are truly good people...but they've had unnecessary circumstances ascribed to them...it's just simply not their fault}....and frankly...it isn't easy on my limited salary....but I continue in a brave attempt), I'd just like to say, having seen your photo...you're the only woman I ever truly loved.

(And I mean that).

Apologies for the brief hijack. I just wanted to interject a quick correction.

P. T. Barnum didn't. The full quote is: "There's a sucker born every minute... and two to take 'em."

His competitor said it first. And a second competitor attributed it to P. T. Barnum, likely in order to discredit him. Barnum thanked the man for the free publicity.

Friends of Barnum reported that the quote was out of character for P.T. Barnum.
