Whatever choice you make it needs to be fully informed. Research the MDs you see and if you choose surgery research that MD even more. Do not take the first advice given to you be an informed consumer and know what they are suggesting and talking about. There are licensing bodies for all docs and I think they should keep records for discipline and complaints, I am a critical care RN and could give both success and horror stories.
Prednisone in itself will make you moody as well will cause weight gain in itself. It is a wonder drug with huge side effects.
