Hi there offspringriot.

Only thing that comes to mind is, and I am sure you may have heard this before, "Careful what you wish for, you just may get it."

I would recommend, possibly, learning things as you go, with someone who you have an affinity for, and let them guide you, to be the best you can be, for that particular person. Anything else may turn out to be fun, educational, and/or immaterial to the person you end up spending the rest of your life with. Of course, this is assuming that you are indeed pursuing your goals to facilitate a longer-term relationship. All the best to you and your endeavors. Oh, as a sidenote, it may be worthwhile to be familiar with some of the history behind a D/s styled approach to living out your life. CastleRealm may be a good as any place to start the adventure, or a local BDSM group near you.
