Why don't you just have the Coffee Shop nekkie cleaning slave come over a couple of times a week and get dinner sent over from the kitchen?

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/14/2009 8:13:00 PM)

Time to turn down the lights and give the dining room a quick sweep and mop.

G'night, everybody.

Good Morning, everybody!
There is sunshine at Bounty's today, a light breeze and mild temperatures.

this girl wiped off the rocking chairs on the porch.  Someone is running the weedeater around the place.  The flowers in the commercial garden are coming along nicely.  Mistress Diane sells them as well as the vegetables from the garden on the other side of the Coffee Shop.

this girl has a "kitchen garden" which provides herbs for cooking and a few veggies.  Basil takes up a lot of space.  There is also cilantro, dill, rosemary, thyme and oregano.

Brunch is omelets, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, milk and juice.

*attacks the fresh fruit :D*

so how is every one today

Morning people!

When I got up this morning, the mist was clinging to the ground, and it was so beautiful against the pink sky that I've brought you a poem by Henry David Thoreau to begin your day....   Can I please have a strawberry protein shake Miss Potty?  *please tell me she's still here.  I missed her so bad...

Mist

Low-anchored cloud,
Newfoundland air,
Fountain head and source of rivers,
Dew-cloth, dream drapery,
And napkin spread by fays;
Drifting meadow of the air,
Where bloom the dasied banks and violets,
And in whose fenny labyrinth
The bittern booms and heron wades;
Spirit of the lake and seas and rivers,
Bear only purfumes and the scent
Of healing herbs to just men's fields!

Henry David Thoreau

Aylee -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/15/2009 5:49:47 PM)

Wheeeeeeeeeee!  We have a tornado watch and a flash flood watch!  Can it get ANY better than that?  Oh, and we have 70% humidity right now.  Blech!  [:'(]

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/15/2009 7:12:00 PM)

You're making me homesick for Oklahoma, Aylee.

Back to work.  this girl is ironing aprons, napkins and tablecloths tonight.  Turned on the fan to minimize the sweating.

Aylee -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/15/2009 9:11:07 PM)

Ugh!  This weather makes me homesick for Western Colorado.  The humidity just kills me.  I am just not used to feeling like a ball of sweat because I walked a block.  Even after 9 years.  ICKY!

DarkSteven -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/15/2009 9:12:19 PM)

Aylee, you lived in the Grand Junction area?

Yep.  Was born there, and other than time spent in the military, I lived there until May 2000.  Why?

sunshinemiss -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/16/2009 4:06:09 AM)

Morning everybody!

In light of other threads, here is your morning poem...

The Pig

In England once there lived a big
And wonderfully clever pig.
To everybody it was plain
That Piggy had a massive brain.
He worked out sums inside his head,
There was no book he hadn't read.
He knew what made an airplane fly,
He knew how engines worked and why.
He knew all this, but in the end
One question drove him round the bend:
He simply couldn't puzzle out
What LIFE was really all about.
What was the reason for his birth?
Why was he placed upon this earth?
His giant brain went round and round.
Alas, no answer could be found.
Till suddenly one wondrous night.
All in a flash he saw the light.
He jumped up like a ballet dancer
And yelled, "By gum, I've got the answer!"
"They want my bacon slice by slice
"To sell at a tremendous price!
"They want my tender juicy chops
"To put in all the butcher's shops!
"They want my pork to make a roast
"And that's the part'll cost the most!
"They want my sausages in strings!
"They even want my chitterlings!
"The butcher's shop! The carving knife!
"That is the reason for my life!"
Such thoughts as these are not designed
To give a pig great piece of mind.
Next morning, in comes Farmer Bland,
A pail of pigswill in his hand,
And piggy with a mighty roar,
Bashes the farmer to the floor…
Now comes the rather grizzly bit
So let's not make too much of it,
Except that you must understand
That Piggy did eat Farmer Bland,
He ate him up from head to toe,
Chewing the pieces nice and slow.
It took an hour to reach the feet,
Because there was so much to eat,
And when he finished, Pig, of course,
Felt absolutely no remorse.
Slowly he scratched his brainy head
And with a little smile he said,
"I had a fairly powerful hunch
"That he might have me for his lunch.
"And so, because I feared the worst,
"I thought I'd better eat him first."

Roald Dahl
