Termyn8or -> RE: Please pardon by ignorance but what is... (7/1/2007 7:40:02 AM)

I don't think this is completely accurate. Context has alot to do with it. Mod11 explained to me that the rules are not etched in stone, like you can't say this you can't say that. The rules clearly state "no mention of illegal activity", but that is not hard and fast in any way. What if I posted "I got robbed" or something like that. No mention of children is out the window as well with the thread about the UM of 17 I smacked around because he hit his Mom. Context is the important thing. It is very hard to draw a line. I mention smacking the kid around that is one thing, but for example if I had posted it in Bondage Gear And Apparel asking what type of restraint I should use on the lil MF that would be wholly inappropriate. Even what I did post was approaching the line. But it did not get pulled. Personally I do not use the UM abbreviation, it is not needed. Many here have children and they will get mentioned. In the "Gear" section one might post that their UM found their whatever, or ask a Dom/me one might ask how to deal with the circumstances of raising a child being a sub. Things like that. I'll tell you where is close to the line, so much so I will not even start on it here, teens in chastity belts. I got this to fly on another forum. I extolled all the advantages, and had details. The idea of the thread was that there is too much teenage pregnancy. This after seeing another Maury with a 19 year old with a 4 year old kid who has had 44 paternity tests and can't find the real Father. But I won't start that here and I can tell you why. These fora are readable by anyone on the internet. The moderators and operators of this site seem to be quite concious of our public image. We are already at a disadvantage being kinky, and alot of vanillas see that as one step away from being a rapist or other sexual predator. By our own words we damn ourselves or become idolized, by our own words ON THIS SITE. There is no doubt there are some abys here, and some take that to mean kiddie porn or sex. It must be clear that it is not. And CM has already been used to commit a crime. We made the news, that is not good. If we make the news again I would prefer it to be in a positive light, perhaps someone finding the good people here and averting a suicide or something, anything. There is a large contingent of the population even that sees tying each other up and whuppins and spankins to be some sicko shit, and for no good reason. The way I see it, if we keep it up and up, we show the world that we are not bad people. We show them that we care about the human race, perhaps more than they. The body of text we generate should show people that except for a kink or two we are normal. We love our families and friends, we work and try to do good. It's just when we get into the bedroom you might hear a chain clank or something. We do not sit there all day jacking off to pictures of sponge bob square pants. (I refuse to capitalise that). In a way yall burst my bubble in a way. I thought the term UM was used by choice, as an endearing thing, but right now I am on the internet, GET OUT. Kinda cute. Like my buddy used to call his daughter the little britch. He stopped when she started to learn how to talk. There seems to have been no ill effects. I thought it was like that, I really did. And just a quick update on the UM I smacked around, I just talked to him the other day. In keeping with my morality it was time. There was no incident, well a cookout. I told him about the day my car gave up the ghost and putting my fist through a $300 door. I told him all about it and how I do understand how some people can get under your skin. I told him that when he fucks up how he shouldn't let it tear him up, we are human. Had a nice talk. So if y'all don't mind I'd like to still think of UM as a nice, non-derogatory slang term for your kids. OK ? T
