How did you feel the first time you had a collar put around your neck. You did not have to be owned, just a collar put on you by someone who wanted it there and perhaps a leash.
I always remember the look on a girl when I put a collar on her for the first time (again not necessarily collared by me), especially if it is her first time.
I guess it is the tactile engagement, the show of force, control, upon someone that excites them. All I know is it works! I usually leash as well, it is that first tug, leading her, that usually gets their blood flowing to all the right places........

I know it may sound silly, but to this day I enjoy hearing people express joy from this lifestyle.

Nothing at all silly about that...why would anyone engage in a lifestyle they don't find en-joy-able *smile*  This applies to just about everything in life as well, imho.

I felt "Hmm yeah this is nice, this feels good"

Of course it was a dork top who I never saw again, but the collar was just a fun play thing and we both knew it.

I am not all that interested in “collaring” My slaves; collaring is mostly a child of the cyber-community. Oh piercing and tattoos have always been around, Ownership used to be more about arm bands or wrist bands than collars. A collar was just more equipment for when One went to “work” (sceneing).

I am speaking here in general not about you specifically. Ah yes the proud whore masquerading as a slave who wears her collar everyday, all day no matter if at work or shopping or wherever needful in being out, “honest” about what she is. I happen to prefer something less public not because I have ANY worries about that but rather because I want MY slave-animals to know what they really are, slave-animals.

So I use a harness, thin enough to wear under most clothing and frankly sometimes the obvious “showing” of it plays well into humiliation when that is required. It goes around the waist with a strap attached and lockable up between the legs and has two points where plugs of various sizes and materials can be inserted along with other objects such as small bottles etc.

Now the slave is IN HARNESS as a genuine good slave should always be.

For Me a collar is no more important than a set of nipple clamps or a flogger as to the symbology of Ownership in TPE life whereas in vanilla Sm/Ds it has much more value.

Enjoy your wonder-filled day

From a strictly historical perspective, a collar has been representative of ownership for several thousand years.  Which is how it came to symbolize ownership during the infancy of organized S/M as well.  Both are documented facts.

*blink* WOW....what exactly does this reply have to do with the OP's question?

ok, you win, that response just proves your badassedness (yeah i made the word up, deal with it)  *insert very dramatic eyeroll here________* /end sarcasm

dogobedience...to further my original post, when Sir placed His collar on me it wasn't done lightly...it signified a very deep commitment for both of U/us, no matter what some may deem as a joke.

W/we've been together quite a long time and i still get that same warm feeling when it's locked in place...(and no i don't wear it out grocery shopping with my children).

I won't soon forget when Master put my collar on, it was the first one I had ever gotten, and I loved it.  It made it all feel more real, and it made me realize that nothing I had was mine anymore.  It was the most freeing experience of my life.

As soon as the lock clicked, I knew I wasn't a slave. I'm a Servant. It's a subtle, but important distinction for me. So, I understand better about the Servant Master concept that Master Skip teaches.

I didn't particularly love it, which surprised me. However, I love the feeling of cuffs round my ankles and wrists. I was once chained up by the ankle for a weekend (long chain) and it was a beautiful thing.

Master Fire, do you have any online sources re Servant/Master? It's not a term I have heard before.

Angel loves being owned, but he hates his collar. He doesnt wear it unless I specifically request it and then he will fidget with it the entire time.  He has not been comfortable with anything around his neck since day one, but he wears it to make me happy. Our relatioship as it is, I dont ask him to wear it often, since I know he is not comfortable in it.  Thankfully, he doesnt need the constant physical reminder that he is owned.
Kitten, on the other hand, loves being lead around by his collar. It is the easiest way to get him into subspace is to put that around his neck and tug him up into my lap.  His first time in a collar was with me, and it has had lasting impressions. He will not wear a permanent collar around his neck, becasue he doesnt wear jewelry as a common thing and it would be very obvious if he changed that drastically. However, playtime it is a constant thing, and if I do not actually think of it, he will request I put it on him and he has even gone to fetch it for me a few times.

yep, a puddle on the floor...me too!

as far as my play collar, him putting it on is a very very quick way to get me into subspace.  it's like a little switch being turned on inside me

Great spiritual teachers often embody the Servant Master archetype. Here is the workshop description from Master Skip. To get everything, you have to go see him. :-)

THE SERVANT MASTER
From Control to Compassion

The archetype of the Servant Master is found in every major spiritual tradition, from the shamanic Native American medicine man who acts as the conduit between the tribe and the spirits of its ancestors, to Buddhist bodhisattvas that postpone their entrance into Nirvana in order to facilitate the enlightenment of others, to Jesus’ Last Supper revelation that, “Whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave to all.”  This profound and paradoxical teaching provokes a challenging question to those who claim the dominant role in a D/s relationship:  “How am I called to be of service to those who serve me?”  Join Master Skip as he shares his insights into what it means to be a Servant Master and the alchemy that transforms Dominance and submission into Devotion and surrender. (This presentation, which is appropriate for both Dominants and submissives, will conclude with the audience participating in a sacred and moving ritual.  A short break will be taken prior to the ritual to allow those who do not wish to participate to take their leave.  Once the door to the meeting room has been closed, no one will be permitted to enter until the ritual has concluded.)

Almost immediately I was on my knees. I might have had more to say on the subject, but oddly enough my mouth was full.
