Until this thread I would have put the low intensity ones as cumming and the over the edge one as an orgasm.... that was the difference to me.. and it has been implied that way by someone else to me.... but now I don't know....

I think they're all orgasms just of different intensities. Multiple orgasms can either be several in a row or one long one that doesn't fully end before the next kicks in. I can have those sometimes and sometimes not, and if he doesn't stop when I curl up in a ball and beg him 'no more' then I burn out on erotic response for a couple of days.

Basically orgasm is the more scientific term and cum the slang. No other difference that I know of.

Sometimes when I am having an incredibly intense orgasm, and cumming (read "ejaculating"), I can squeeze and ride the sensation until it feels like I need to take a piss- this is the beginning of the second, uncommon male "cum wave," and although my load is all gone, the feeling of "cumming" to the point of ejaculation may just be starting again, except that there will not be another ejaculation... and the experience is similar with females. A past sub has said that she felt as though she needed to pee, and I told her that meant that she was on the verge of having a female ejaculation... when I took her there again, and guided her through the feeling, re-assuring her and telling her to "go with the feeling, feel it, and let loose, feel it and let GO" etc, she did actually "cum," meaning that her orgasm ended in her expelling female ejaculate, or cum... it is wonderful. Breathe, relax, ride it, and let LOOSE!

i figured it out today at work........

cumming is for screaming because " im orgasmingggggggggg" would take too many syllables.

the orgasm part is the nice feelings all your nasty parts and head get while you yell the aforementioned "im cummingggggggg"

For me there indeed is a distinction , or line in the sand I draw between the two.
The cumming involves gushing fluids that make me wet.
There are all types of orgasms that do not involve gushing fluids.
There for example are Chakra orgasms where it's more an orgasm from your spirit than from your lions.
Many women especially after hysterectomys, or after menapause have periods of dryness where no cum happens at the point of orgasm.
In all, I think you can orgasm without cumming, but you can't cum without orgasming.

Orgasm, cum, words are words. You can decide what it means to you. I sent the OP a lengthy essay on the very different orgasms that I myself am capable of - every woman and every orgasm is different. If anyone would like another POV on orgasm, PM me and I'll send it along.
