im assuming its a backlash to 'womens rights'. women deciding that its refreshing to go back to what their mothers/grandmothers did.
plus, surely the outfits are exciting. I wouldnt mind it seeing more best pearls and dress and high heels wearing while vaccumming.
does this this include greeting their master at the door with fresh baked goods?

Personally I love women who are naked and barefoot, I hate high heels.  And if you were wondering I also like men, I am bisexual and not homophobic.

Yeah ok women who are pregnant are gorgeous and I do love children.  Except the woman who taught the class who seemed to control every movement of us teaching the children games and playing with them.

Why waste time looking for a female who thinks that all men are superior to her? Why not make yourself into a superior male who one female will aspire to be with instead?

I don't believe that the 1950's Lifestyle Movement is routed in BDSM, it's simply in a cultural desire to return to an era where that which was commercial became at the forefront of living.  It's nothing more than the 'about me' era.

Consumerism hit the world.  Fashion hit the world.  Women could be beautiful again and men could be powerful again.  Feminist grip became more elitist and life looked as though it was improving, which in the previous decades it was not.

Women in the 50's were the stay at home wives with the new TV and the fancy new dryer.  For the elite class (classic female film stars and those with money) the men fawned and worshipped them like a goddess.
Men were more powerful, industry took off and the 'office' worker became far more important (blue collar).  Longer hours meant that women and wives of these men were expected to care and nuture, to be the support and raise the family.

Its not deep routed - it's simply a desire to emanate a time period where people suddenly felt that they had more power.

Peace

Nobody said it was 'off the list' - but 1950's households are not a new concept nor are they restricted to BDSM.  You asked if it was 'deeply routed' - it's not - People live '1950's Lifestyle' without being into BDSM.

I'm having thoughts about being dressing up like Fonzy, having some hot slave babe that looks like a Vargas pin up Girl bringing me a bottle of Coke, while sitting out in my Normal Rockwell picturesque front porch swing.  Ahhhh... such a lovely romantic notion.

You forgot to mention the dog on the porch and the sunset in the background...  And a record player and stack of 45's on the side table.

Ah, where have all the James Deans gone?

why not ask why? Personally I like asking the why of stuff, it is out of pure curiousity. Even if I do not have any interest in incorpurating that activity or aspect into my lifestyle.

Are there many female slaves looking for a dominant male that are into the 1950s lifestyle and if so is this because they feel that men are either much better than them or because its just a fantasy.  Because I am talk to a slave that feels that men are so much better than females and im just wondering about others.  I am looking for that kind of female slave.

Since when are men better than women? I guess I missed THAT day in school. How are men better than women?? Because you can pee standing up? Because you can build muscle faster? Because you can't get pregnant? Please tell me HOW men are better than women. I can't figure that one out.

1950s style, I'm game, sure why not; as long as common sence is involved, not an issue.

The issue I see is the ego of the OP, thinking he is better than women. In my book that over shadows his WHOLE post. Putting women down around here, is like waging war.

Course, if I was going to pick a time period to live in, I'd pick either the colonial or antebellium periods and at least have fun dressing up.

Which is why I belong to the SCA, get to play dressup without going back in time.

~ Now, I think alot of people in the BDSM world have used "1950's" type slave to mean, they want a slave who is gonna clean house and cook and be the "perfect" housewife. And if thats what they want, then fine...there are alot of service oriented subs out there. I dont think that means male supremacy though....big difference.

In my dream world - i am home baking cookies and having babies. I don't believe men are superior to women but i have no problem with the notion that males, in general, are the more dominant species.  In the natural order of things.  I'd be quite content living in a time where my main priority would be the house and the kids and taking care of my man after he put in a long day of work and where he made all the financial and 'important' decisions.  To many, it may seem silly and naive, but, well, it's my dream world and so you don't have to agree.

Just to add - Male supremacy and/or female supremacy is a bit over the top for me and i have little or no personal tolerance for it.  But to each their own.

This has nothing to do with a 1950's household.

But the object of the 1950's lifestyle is a part of the belief in the world that male supremacists live in.  Like the same type of lifestyle would be for the bdsm realtionship between an african american and there are people like this out there who play the slave to the white man or woman.

I think...just like with female, Female Supremacists and the men who agree with them...you can find plenty of male, Male supremacists and women who agree with them.

I am curious about something though...if you are already talking to a female slave who believes that way, why are you seeking another unless she already belongs to someone?
