You don't have to have your blood sugar so high. Have you tried government or private assistance? Or used diet to control it?

I recall my ob telling me that walking after a meal helps keep the blood sugar levels from skyrocketing...don't know if this is relevant or helpful, but makes sense to me that it is.

It's extremely relevant, lh.

I have a co-worker, her now ex-husband was hospitalized about a year and a half ago, his blood sugars were close to 600, and one of his toes was turning black. They kept him there for a few weeks, until they stablized him, and he has since, with diet and walking/biking, not only kept his sugars normal, but done so without meds.

Myself, when I ride my recumbent bike for only ten minutes, can drop my blood sugar down about 15 points. An average person's post-pranadial reading (that's after a meal) usually hits it's peak 90 to 120 minutes after beginning to eat. Exercise about an hour after eating, and you can flatten the blood sugar spike a great deal. Eat a low carb meal, and that REALLY can keep it from going high.

A normal person will see their blood sugar go no higher than 120 to 140 two hours after a meal, and it goes back in the 80s or low 90s soon after that.
