LONDON - Britain’s Prime Minister Tony Blair will meet Pope Benedict at the Vatican on Saturday to prepare to convert to Roman Catholicism, British newspapers reported on Friday.

The Guardian quoted unidentified sources in London and Rome as saying Blair, who is Anglican, had decided to seek admission to the Catholic Church.

So, let me get this straight.....Blair, a fascist, is going to have the nazi pope Ratzinger offically confer the title of catholic upon him;...so a fascist can now openly worship as a fascist. And thus it's ordained by god. fascism is a good thing. Next.... Bush will convert, and there, everyone will be fascists.....now you see why Bush et al showed up at Pope John's funeral....to have the nazi Ratzinger appointed pope.

Here it comes.

If all of your posts misuse terms like fascist and nazi, it'll be pretty safe to say their content won't be very edifying.

Isn't the Anglican church pretty much like the Roman Catholic Church (with the exception of that pesky divorce rule?)

I had to do some Googling, Katy, as I don't know personally.

I imagine Noah, Aswad, or someone could give a more definitive answer.

Level, please, I am merely calling a spade ...what it is....a spade...and a rose...by any other name; is still...a rose. Now, most people, I know, already, do not like to read or hear those two hated words mentioned...in fact, to illustrate, years ago, on a TV interview show, Valdimir Posner, asked Rush Limbaugh, if he (Limbaugh) was a fascist...Limbaugh refused to answer, but countered with, "isn't it true that you (Posner) are a socialist."  Now that was okay, to accuse someone of being a socialist; but not, in no way, ever mention fascist. Posner readily answered yes, and then was on immediate attack from Limbaugh. They immediately broke for commercial; returned with the usual Clinton bashing from Limbaugh.

The two words, bring to mind, immediate absolute vivid graphic images of what to be a fascist is, and what a nazi is. I didn't create those images....they did. So don't attack me, for calling it like it is. You should be attacking the fascists and nazis for that edificational image. If people do not like it; then attack them, not the messenger.

Katylied is correct, Anglic is just one step away from catholic; and to switch just makes it all official. By Blair doing thus, he has legitimize the reign of the catholic church over England, and has ratified the nazi Ratzinger as legitimate pope benidictum, or whatever name he picked. It does not matter. Ratzinger was a nazi, he and his brother, after the war, sought refuge within the catholic church, becoming priests and so on. They upon priest hood, sought out their records as nazis and removed every bit of vital information therein, leaving only the fact of their being nazi, and their service unit. That which they could not remove.

So, if they were just innocents, why bother to have their records whiped out? What were they trying to hide? What did they do, that they wanted no one to discover....could it be, they syped out, ratted out their neighbors? Who knows, we will never know. When he went to his home town, he was so welcomed, that some of the old time residents, or who ever, painted his house with, oh, dare I write it...swatiskas.

Get real, Level.....look at reality for what it is....some people find it so very difficult to accept, and choose to sugarcoat it, with all sorts of acceptable terms.

I'm an NOT misusing the words, every one of my posts are factual; I just choose not to hide truth, not to bury it under some white wash of superficiality. You've read my other posts, and tell me where I am wrong, where I maligned anyone. Every one of my posts which I have critized the establishment is substaniated by the abosulte truth and widely known facts.

so it's pretty safe to say.......what.

I know, if I want to get along...then just go along.

Me thinks he would have to convert to a human being first.

I have no problem with either word being used, I'm not nearly that sensitive. But to misuse them...

Blair is no fascist. Ratzinger belonged to the Hitler Youth; he was 14 years old. I'm not going to condemn someone's entire life due to something they did as a child. To call him a "nazi" makes it sound like he was hanging around with Goebbels or something.

As for "attacking the messenger".... if I place an order for a ham and cheese sandwich, and the "messenger" brings me baloney, what should one do?

Hey Katy

Anglicans follow the same book as catholics, but it pretty much stops there.
Anglicans practice contraception and don't worship idols or symbols (essentially) as catholics.  You don't have to be christened or baptised (but it helps) but they do have alot of ceremonies etc which is akin to catholic practises.
Plus if your an anglican, you dont have to do everything the pope says.

Don't know if that helps.
Peace
the.dark.

Is it just me that thinks the name Ratzinger sounds like a budget KFC meal?

Have it your way Level; Blair is a 'Rose', and the Hitler youth were... what?......I never said Ratzinger hung out with Gobbels, or Mengle. But, the word images are emblazzoned in your brain, and that is what you, yourself see...I didn't put that image there, you conjured it yourself. Each word gave you the image, that you, yourself see.

And your judgement of Ratzinger is from the information he and his brother created, what you believe, it to be, is what Ratzinger allowed you to have.

I want to know more, and there is no more, because he and his brother erased all, to become as lily white as could be.

At 14 years, I knew what I wanted, and believed what I believed, and only time has changed some things; but I never had need to erase my 14 year old expierences, I never did anything nor joined anything to be charged with or reproached for in any way whatsoever.

Condem his whole life, why not; Slophie Scholl was condemed, her entire life, no excuses for her.

I'm not so sensitive, more of a passionaria.

And, would you like mustard or mayo with that order?  Sauerkraut as a side dish?

.....however you initiated the process with your choice of words. i believe the analogous concept in the world of photography is framing, the photographer chooses what is in the image, the viewer responds....both are responsible in some way for the end product- interpretation.
