From the story, apparently the guy had already installed a hedge, a wall, and a waterfall to try to muffle the amount of noise, add on to that, he was one of 6 or 7 neighbors that had complained, and yes, if he had already spoken to the parents, I think he was justified in taking them to court, what other recourse did he have? I used to live in a condo, thin walls, and the neighbors would frequently leave their two teenage boys at home alone (yes, they're old enough to be home alone, I know)..the problem was, as soon as they were alone, the stereo would get jacked up, you could literally hear them jumping off the beds wrestling each other, etc. I spoke to the mom a couple times, and she basically acted nastily toward me (a.."what right do you have to tell me how my kids should act".. type deal), and finally I ended up calling the cops. After that happened about three times, things finally settled down. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I don't think it's unreasonable to have a certain expectation of peace while in your own home. Just my two cents.. -a
