Happy
Alban Heflin, Alben Heruin, All-couples day, Feast of Epona, Feast of St. John the Baptist, Feill-Sheathain, Gathering Day, Johannistag, Litha, Midsummer, Sonnwend, Thing-Tide, Vestalia

to all who celebrate on this glorious day!!!  May your bon-fires be too high to jump over!!!

I've been told that we have a 'newlywed ritual' to perform tonight inclusive of a baptism and fire dance, followed by 'consummating' the union. I don't think there is much of beth that I haven't already 'consummated', but I'll use the advise given on shampoo bottles - rinse & repeat.

Of course we'll be doing a modern version. A hot tub baptism followed by a naked dance and jump over the fire pit.

If anyone is in the neighborhood and wants to join us, send a note on the other side. (Of CM - not referencing the spiritual 'other side'.)

Why is it glorious? Now the days get shorter which less light = more depression.  December 22, is happier to me as the days then get longer.

Anyhow I do notice both the winter and summer soltice.

...Why is it glorious?...

We are half-way to Harvest-time, friend!!!!  and for Wiccans:

"Midsummer is the time when the sun reaches the peak of its power, the earth is green and holds the promise of a bountiful harvest. The Mother Goddess is viewed as heavily pregnant, and the God is at the apex of his manhood and is honored in his guise as the supreme sun."

It is a time for divination and healing rituals. Divining rods and wands are traditionally cut at this time.

We are direct opposites.

Shorter days, less light  =  joy.   I  love  winter.

Long days  +  lotsa sunlight  + oppressive heat  +  unbearable humidity  +  waaaaay too many frickin' bugs  =  depression.

Just the way I see things.

And jumping over a fire?  I'd prolly burn My butt doing that.   Rump roast, anyone??

~~~ Happy Summer Solstice to A/all. ~~~
I prefer the Spring and Autumn.  Summer just means 100 degree temperatures and 100% humidity down here.
