I spent 22 years in the computer industry, on a multitude of platforms, doing everything from performance analysis to hardware support.  I am now a longshoreman; I dont have to take my brain to work.

Having said that...

My contract rate for computer support is $50.00 / hour.  I have a 4 hour minimum.  Half payable in advance.

Please send me an email on the other side and I will tell you where to send the check for my services.

Sinergy

p.s.  Alternatively, you could research your registry entries and determine where they came from, what they go to, and whether they belong there.  Clean a person's registry, it is clean until they hook up to the internet.  Teach a person to clean their registry, their registry is clean for a lifetime.

Grins, that is true sinergy. James is going to teach me how to look at those things, this week.

Uninstall everything you don't actively use, and try again.

If your really unsure about it all...if you have the factory discs, you can just redo your system. I usually redo mine every 3 months.

Yeah, it probably needs a redo, but I have litterally over 2 thoughsand files on here, between music, and pictures, and coloring pages, and what have you's. I really don't wish to have to back it all up right now lol.

What would happen if your harddrive completely crashed tonight?

If you're not ready to reload your PC's operating system, you're NOT READY FOR A HARDDRIVE FAILURE.

( Much less, say, a fire, theft, or other catastrophically destructive event. )
