That's why there should be a test you must pass in order to have children.
Would cut down on millions of unwanted kids out there.

Oh my lord.  I couldn't read the article because the headline nearly made me sick.

I am a mom.  I have a ten-month old UM.  I understand those angry moments when you just can't handle your baby crying anymore.  When you don't have kids it's easy to say, "I would never do that" or "I would never think like that".  But when you haven't slept in two days and your baby just won't stop crying, you can have some ugly thoughts that you aren't proud of.  The difference between the good parents and the heinous monsters is that the good parents know when to put their baby in the crib and let him cry it out.  When you get those ugly feelings you either find someone to help or you make sure that your baby is safe in the next room and you take a few minutes as a break to collect yourself.  You make sure baby is safe and you step the hell away before you do something irretrievable.

Anyone that would go so far as to torture their baby by taping a pacifier in its mouth deserves to be tortured right back.  Screw manslaughter, she murdered her baby.

Edited to add:  If you don't have any idea how to be a parent, don't become one.  Adoption, you fricking morons who think you don't have options.  You say, "Oh, but I don't think I could give my baby to someone else."  And I say, yeah, but at least your baby would be ALIVE then.

I'm sure stupidity should be a crime....

Terrible story and I hope she serves the full time in prison.  At least she will be less likely to breed in there.

THREE CHEERS!!!! I know , my 2nd had chronic ear infections. Sometimes I put him in his crib and just went outside for 5 minutes because i needed to. sometmiems he slept in his swing, with me on the couch next to him, because he'd sleep there. So far, i don't think it did him any permanent damage, and he's 12 now.

If you really really really don't think you can "handle it anymore", find a number to somebody- the local childrens hospital, the local crisis line, heck, call the local nut hut and talk to the friggin secretary that answers the phone. Do SOMETHING other than kill your kid.

Some idiot locally has been indicted for microwaving her baby to death. What the HELL is wrong with the world?
