ORIGINAL: Lordandmaster Essentially the difference is this: Judging: "That's not right for me." Being judgmental: "That's not right for anyone." There are many more things that aren't right for me than aren't right for anyone. There are a few things I don't think are right for anyone (murder, you can fill in the blanks), but judgmental people think there are many more. Gay marriage is a good example. Fuck, gay marriage obviously isn't for me, but I won't go ahead and say that means it's wrong for all human beings. i like this definition best. i am not sure why judgmental has to necessarily include harshness unless the point of being judgemental is to "make that person change" Even if you hate what they do, can't you still be judgemental yet retain some measure of control? If not then isn't that what essentially leads to fights, arguments, wars, etc? i may feel very judgemental about the KKK, but that doesn't mean i have to try and change them, confron them, etc.... but i definately would steer clear of them and not associate with them. On another note, i would feel very judgmental about certain elements of society who prey on the smaller elements of society, while i might not go bounty hunting every one of them, if i met one or knew of one who was putting someone in danger, i would be very harsh and intrusive. Just my thoughts. i reserve the right to change my mind lol.
