I'm just flipping through some of the photos on this site and I couldn't help think how amusing it would be to suddenly encounter a picture of someone I knew, but didn't know was into D/s. Has anyone here ever had this happen, either on this site or elsewhere?

YES!
Kind of funny to recognize your Project manager with out a stitch of clothes on. And then, as I have actaully seen him tied up one night and introduced the next day to me.   And the quote would be * Have we met before???
Some things are really priceless.

I have recognized people from vanilla dating sites... one that had asked me out a long time ago was on Yahoo personals. This happened about two years ago... he is a gym rat.

I recognized one of the dads from my son's daycare last week, I ran into him yesterday and I just grinned; I added him to my favs list on here {giggles}. I never would have guessed. Guess I will find out if he puts 2 and 2 together.

Never anyone I actually know - but loads of lookalikes.

There was a lady from Canada who looked exactly like my ex. And then there's a certain lady here whose pic looks enough like me for my UMs to have said it was me - I did show it them out of context, dont worry.

Yep, we knew each other through mutual friends before knowing we were in the scene. We even actually dated and played for a couple of months, and are still good friends.

I have recognized a guy from a vanilla dating site (he lives just a few miles from me); but no one from here.

I found my old drill sergeant's profile here, as well as two people I used to hang out with in Arizona.

I recognised a man I once had a disasterous date with from a vanilla site. I wonder if it would have made a difference if we knew we were really Dom and sub? Probably not- he was most likely the type who would be here to get laid by a kinky chick- not a real Dom.

Ditto! Although not so much if someone else is truly into kink, my concern is more about being "found out" by someone who's just looking on a lark.

It's interesting though, to hear this has happened! Must be quite entertaining for those of you who recognize someone else on here or other BDSM sites. :)

I've been on this site for two years and I've never seen anyone from the profile side that I haven't intentionally set out to meet...until this morning.  I'm at the local firehouse for their Sunday breakfast fundraiser and there sitting at the next table is a collarme member.  I recognized him instantly, but don't think he saw me or recognized me since my hair was curly this morning.  It was a little unnerving.

Yep. Dude who works on plays with me, or has. Lol... there's noooooo way he didn't recognize me, but he never said a word. I wouldn't have pegged him as a sub; or at least I would have thought that *he* thought he was a dom.

When I first came to CM, one of the first profiles I saw was my best friend from high school.  We only do the Xmas card exchange these days and I haven't let him know I saw him here.

I have seen a couple from Central Cali and Fresno but it was after I moved to Arizona and I knew they were in a committed relationship so I never said a word.
