Yeah, I wonder what Cheech thinks about him. [8|]

I saw Chong's tour with the Marijuanalogues...

He's still got the timing.

I heard awhile back that they were planning another movie together.  That was before Chong got sent to the Federal pen for selling bongs online, so I don't know if that is still planned or not.  'Up in Smoke' and 'Next Movie' were my favorites.  I didn't really like 'Nice Dreams.'  'Corsican Brothers' was okay.

Just goes to show you how resilient the human brain is.  You can bombard it with toxic chemicals for decades and it'll still work.  Not well, but it works! [;)]

from Wikipedia:

"After their contentious parting in the '80s, the duo had a less-than-stellar friendship. Chong recalled going to Cheech's birthday party in 1994 and seeing Cheech "on the couch with his arm around his wife like we had just met. It wasn't comfortable."

The duo had plans to reunite for another film when Tommy Chong's California-based company, Chong Glass, was raided by federal officials on February 25, 2003, as part of a federal crackdown on "drug-related paraphernalia." Tommy Chong pleaded guilty to charges of distributing drug paraphernalia in May and on September 11, 2003, was sentenced to nine months in federal prison, fined US$20,000, and forced to forfeit US$120,000 in assets. He served the time between October 8, 2003 and July 7, 2004. With Chong released, the duo planned to resume production on their latest opus. A variety of titles were rumored, including Grumpy Old Stoners. Cheech and Chong announced on September 8, 2005 that the reunion film had been canceled."

I'm not going to find sources, but I've heard that Chong hates Cheech for having gone mainstream and "sold out."  They went their own ways, and I really don't have a problem with recreational drug use, but shoot...it's not too hard to compare the lucidity of Cheech vs Chong and recognize that you can't do anything to excess.

TheHeretic -> RE: Tommy Chong (6/14/2007 9:30:08 PM)

The chances of a reunion film that was actually any good strike me as somewhere between slim and none (but with just the right script....).

I think those two achieved 'timeless,' and gave the world some great stuff.  Why spoil the memory?

I generally take Wikipedia with a grain of salt, but overall, it seems to be a good site.

Tommy should never have been jailed; as for those stupid looking kids, make the little bastards wear suspenders. Except attractive females.

The Stephen Colbert clip has been removed from youtube due to a copyright violation.  Is that where he told host Stephen Colbert that if he were the judge in the Paris Hilton case he'd do
the following:

"I'd just get her in my chambers and I'd lay her across my knee and
I'd pull up her skirt, pull her little panties down and I would give
her such a licking... and in a place where she'd feel it, too!"

OrionTheWolf -> RE: Tommy Chong (6/24/2007 9:33:29 PM)

Kind of like the Woody Harrilson incident when he planted non-THC producing hemp seeds. Look at the stats of how much fiber can be gained from an acre of hemp, as compared to cotton, the durability and how the oil can be used afterwards.

One acre of hemp produces as much paper as 4 acres of trees, and can do so 4 times a year, I believe. But thank goodness it's illegal.... [&:]
