Nuclear arms in the Middle East
Israel is attacking the Iraqis
The Syrians are mad at the Lebanese
And Baghdad does whatever she please
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy

Things got hot in El Salvador
CIA got caught and couldn't do no more
He's got diplomatic immunity
He's got a lethal weapon that nobody sees
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Send the envoy
Send the envoy

Whenever there's a crisis
The President sends his envoy in
Guns in Damascus
Woa, Jerusalem

Nuclear arms in the Middle East
Israel is attacking the Iraqis
The Syrians are mad at the Lebanese
And Baghdad do whatever she please
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Send the envoy . . .
Send for me

how does one say redundant, redundantly?

Bush is an idiot.

If you want to control a country, you arm the minority.  There are not powerful enough to controlt he country and thus NEED you.  Bush wanted to empower the Shia, the majority, they don't need us, which is why Iraq is in the mess it is.  Then the fucking morons realized that putting the Shia in charge would help Iran.  This is of course proof that nobody in the whitehouse can read because Bush's daddy wrote in his book that he didn't topple Saddam because he was afraid the Shia would take over!

This is the same reason we are fucking idiots about Iran.  Iran NEEDS us.  They have Russia and China on their border and WANT our protection and in fact NEED it.  They are a natural ally if we weren't so fucking dumb.  All we need to do to "fix" Iran is open relations with them, the rest will happen naturally.

At this point, the only way to fix Iraq is to break it up and trade off bits to Syria, Iran, Jordan, Turkey (lets fuck the kurds again), and probably Al Queda/Saudi Arabia.

Hello, pardon my intrusion; these posts are extremely informative, interesting to say the very least; I applaud you all.

To comment on your statement of the documentation of the Palestinia crisis;.....here, in the land of the enslaved free; documentation, reporting real happenings is nil; zip, nothing. If you want to know something, you must go to the European press, or to Hollywood video and rent the docu-discs outlining the events of the Middle east, and then stiff through the producers intended agenda.

There is nothing wrong with 'casual racism'; if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, then one can make a guess...it might just be a repulicanazi.

Why everyone acknowledges Bush as a legitimate president, escapes me, he is a ursurper. He is not credulous. He is illegal. Why has everyone who could do something keep silent?

The invasion was a triumph in illegal action, lies, disasterous world wide consquences which will be felt for the next hundred or more years.
Yet, no one challenges, there is no on-going 24/7 relentless, dialogue, verbalizational attack in any media as there was on Clinton, for having his cock sucked off by a cow, and his alledged embezzlement of 100 G's which the GOP invested, spent, over 48 mil trying in vain to prove.

An illegal war costing beyond the trillions in US funds, and on-going, the real live dead bodies mounting up, the property destructive devasting turmoil of countries being dismantled and restructured until it all suits Bush. An insignificant Burj Bubai Arab country, building  one tower costing over 800 Billion dollars (is that right?); which supposedly will be the center of all euro-middle east commerce.

And no one says anything.

One can only agree with; ..... 'It's not over; till your brother counts the votes'.

The enemy of my enemy, is my friend.

With micro technology, I think it is a great way to do GPS tracking and eaves dropping on them, and now they have better firepower to attack Al Queda insurgents. Isn't it the point to allow the citizens of Iraq to do their own defense?

The U.S. has a long and dirty history of arming whatever side suits our political purposes in regional conflicts.
And inevitably, the practice comes back to bite the civilians in the ass.

Isnt this just the truth. No guesses for who trained the Vietnamese to over throw the French just after WW2. Or who trained Al Quaeda and provided the arms to overthrow the Russians either.

What suprises me is America doesnt learn from past mistakes, not only their own, but that of other former superpowers. You cant overthrow a stable governement, however detestable it is, and not have a follow up plan in place.
Its that simple. [;)]

Britain started the shit in the middle east by drawing lines in sand and running away from its responsibilities after the WWII and allowing the Israelies to set up a state through terrorism rather than waiting for agreement on all sides before withdrwal.

Okay, i answered this drivel on the other thread. There was an agreement reached that the Israelis could accept. The Arabs rejected it, the British mandate ended. The UN... Ie the super powers, did nothing, how is that the fault of the British ?

This thread is, or was, about Iraq. How did British actions after WW2 affect them, since we endeded our mandate in 1932. Did you know that just after WW2 there was a rebellion in Iraq, and the leaders of it had to flee to the Soviet Union ? i wonder who backed them ?

Middle east history and conflict is deep rooted and complicated.
Arab/Jew
Sunni/Shia
Arabs/Persians
Partly the cold war, the effects of it at least
Partly about oil

There is no easy soloution to any of this as far as i can see.

I answered this shit in the other thread. Like the US in Iraq today, Britain couldn't wait to get out of Transjordania and any face saving retreat would do. The UN gave Briitain a fig leaf but the newly formed UN didn't have the power and influence it has today which still isn't much. The British knew they were leaving chaos behind them but cut and run instead of the responsible option of holding the line while both the Arabs and Israelis could agree.

As for the middle east conflicts, who do you think drew the lines in the sand?
