I wonder how many of us 40-60 year old geeks he inspired?  And how many in "reincarnation" on Nickleodeon?  I remember messing up a kitchen counter with vinegar, baking soda and some jelly jars because Don Herbert told me I could make a volcano at home!

I read about that in today's Fresno Bee and saw it on the news, I LOVED Mr. Wizard, I learned soooo much. It's sad that he is gone. I'm 26, and I remember him when he was on 'Mr. Wizard's World' he made science so much fun, he would show you a 'trick' then you would ask 'WOW how did you do that??' then he would explain the science behind it, he made science fun again.

He is resting in that big Fun house of his in the heavens, making up more experiements and blowing things up and teaching others still.

I remember him vaguely, but my grandfather was a high school chemistry teacher.

He would make explosives and blow my world war 2 fighter models up in the back yard.

He would make red/blue vials of liquid where the liquids would never mix.

He would make clear liquid that turned red when you shook the jar.

He would make invisible ink that would show up when you held the paper next to a light bulb.

Science is such a wonderful gift to give to small children.

Well I am not 40 to 60 yrs old, but I watched reruns on Nickelodeon and I loved him.
I still remember a math / card trick he did once.
