ORIGINAL: melzababe All, just saw this movie for the first time. Near the end, a blonde is put in some kind of "umbrella" like this with spears in it. Does anyone know if this is something real or was it just for the movie? Just curious. I'm guessing that you mean the apparatus that looks like this. Yes, it's real. It's called a kavadi and is used in Hindu rituals and festivals. ~stef Ouch. *hates needles* Don't know that how safe that would be. But hey, you'd get a lot of attention. Reminds me of my friends that would stick needles through the top layers of their skin with the "Look what I can do" philosophy. Hey, I resemble your remarks. I don't mind needles being stuck in me, in fact I used get my weekly allergy shots growing up as child. Needles don't bother me much. Though I have had a few crappy Nurses that sucked at drawing blood... I enjoy a little pain being the Masochist I am. I'm not Hindu and I have no desires to experience a kavadi! Pass on this one. I would probally piss myself and drop dead from dehydration the very moment somebody tried spearing me into one of this Evil tings.
