Prof, I was at the same event this past weekend. At first I thought she was, in fact, a fox. Did you notice the tail? Since I just saw her in passing, I wouldn't want to say one way or the other.

Puppy play doesn't always involve humiliation even though it can, it depends on the people involved if they feel that way about it. A lot of the people I know with an interest in it will admit to enjoying it with or without humiliation added into the mix so it's easy to go from one extreme to the other :). At least in my opinion, It's very different mindset that comes with puppy play than a lot of other things. As a puppy there are an awful lot of things you can let go of and not worry about, and an awful lot of very humbling little things that come with it. One of the first times I engaged in puppy play with another person after years of interest I was so excited and wanted to be a good puppy so badly. Not long into it, I got a brief tug/shake at the leash just behind my collar and was scolded as a bad dog. I was so upset and angry about being scolded seemingly for nothing, only to want to curl up and whimper a moment later when I was given the reason and had it explained that a puppy should be walking next to their leash holder rather than out in front trying to lead the way. On a different day when I scratched on a bathroom door I was oddly proud to bark at the question of why I was doing that and be taken out on a leash to the backyard. Think of it like a dog, very small and simple things can leave them all excited and happy and things that aren't all that different can leave them crushed and desperately hoping for redemption. Plus puppy play goes well with lots and lots of other fun things and puppies are easy to train :)

~came back to the thread, humbled and proud at how many people referenced my post. doin' the kitty thing, smugly basking in the attention while pointedly ignoring everyone and purring in a patch of sunshine~

I did attempt to see who would be attending (posted under the upcoming events section but I guess I need to put it somewhere more visible next time.) And yes, I totally see the fox thing. I figured she was a puppy because of the way she was acting but the tail was not quite making me think "dog."

Yes, I know what you mean. There were obviously several people from CM that were there that I didn't get a chance to actually "meet". The only person that I recognized from His photo was Archer, and of course, He has His elegant were highly visual. Even at that, it took Me some time to figure out where I had seen his face before! <Laughs>
