spankmeinpa -> spanish translation (6/5/2007 4:16:11 AM)

I am looking for A/anyone that can translate one sentence for me into Spanish.
The sentence is: I will not top from the bottom.
I have been given this as punishment and have to translate this sentence into 10 languages with Spanish being the first...thanks in advance

Free Translation is the best I can readily offer.  I would warn such translations are often in more literal terms and often lack gramatical agreement, though it's, at very least, a vague idea of where to start.

spankmeinpa.. favesclava is about as close as we can get. Literal translations never work. as it is.. NO Dominare de abajo is I will not Dominate from the bottom. but thats better than saying Topping in spanish. (not even sure how to say topping.. I know arriba is above or higher)

Good luck with what it is you needed for. Cuidate spankmeinpa

Babel Fish is very good, but only as a starting point in a translation. It will give you just the literal translations of words. But not really what is spoken by native speakers of any language. No Dominare...in the Spanish is probably the closest you will get to the true meaning of that sentence.

MNN

Vendaval -> RE: spanish translation (6/6/2007 12:49:12 AM)

True.  Translation is about getting the meaning of a word or phrase and that is about as close as possible.

seeksfemslave -> RE: spanish translation (6/6/2007 12:57:12 AM)

I'l bet that in Spanish there are words that carry the connotations of "top" and "bottom" that are lacking in the word abajo in the No dominare response.

Problem is: No se lo que estan(son)?
Hedge mah bets, to be (estar) or the other to be (ser) that is the question !

Try this:   http://world.altavista.com/

Lordandmaster -> RE: spanish translation (6/6/2007 9:08:19 AM)

That would make it perfectly clear.

I've heard "top" and "bottom" called "activo" and "pasivo" in Spanish, but I think those terms are somewhat misleading, and anyway they refer to the top and bottom as people, not to topping and bottoming as verbs.

Go with what favesclava said; no one could possibly misunderstand that.

...purely out of curiosity, what are the other nine languages?

seeksfemslave -> RE: spanish translation (6/6/2007 10:17:36 AM)

I think all language translation "engines" will return the future tense for "I will not top" etc and therefore will fail.
Anybody know the grammatical description for the use of "will" in "I will not top" which, as an idiom, is not meant to specify the future. Is it ?

Spankme if one of the other 9 languages is Chinese then your master/mistress is totally evil.
