Caitlyn, and what about the E.U. Aircraft Carriers?
If I'm not misstaken the continent of Africa is about 300 miles south of Italy.

Well you know, the funny thing about a no-fly zone, is you may actually have to shoot someone down to enforce it.

This perhaps betrays a fundemental truth that isn't the most popular thing to talk about. While most of the Western world thinks the United States has far too much will (and possibly, rightfully so), it seems pretty clear from the American perspective, that the rest of the Western world has little or no will at all.

Britain, the second string of constant bashing on this board, would probably be the only one willing to help out, but their allotment Eurofighter Typhoons is currently deployed in support of Iraqi.

Caitlyn, if that's the case and they want a no fly zone just drop in a couple dozen Stinger missles and a few thousand machine guns.
France could do that!

It just seems incongruous and very disingenuous for any candidate to say that they want to get us "out of " Iraq but "in to" Darfur.
And now we're bombing Somalia but not Western Pakistan where we "know" Bin Laden and al qeada training camps are?

Popeye,
Why would any of the Democrats impress you as you are such a strong Republican?  None of the Republicans would impress me as we have totally different values.

minnetar

Minnetar, I'm not a Republican. I voted against Bush in both elections!
I'm an Independant voter, "Un Enrolled" or "Un-Declared."

You just don't get it... anyone who dares to speak heresy against the Holy Ones or the party line, is automatically an evil one of 'Them', whether they know it or not.

Pointing out Democrat's hypocrisy makes someone a 'strong Republican', just as pointing out Republican BS makes one a 'strong Democrat'.

Its just easier that way...saves the headache of examining the reality that both parties are as alike as peas in a pod.

Not sure I agree with this.

I personally think it would be a lot easier to live in a bipolar universe.  One where it truly is a "with us or against us" or "us and them" mentality.  One side wears shirts, and they are the good guys.  The other side are skins, and they are the bad guys.

Good guys are, by definition, allowed to utilize any means to capture and retain their supremacy, and anything the Bad guys do are, by definition, evil bad things deserving of righteous punishments.

If one is a shirt, anything that is not a shirt must, by definition, be a skin.

Living a life where everything is a shade of grey is much more difficult.  Although, as I spend all my time there, I have to say that life is a lot more interesting and there are far less things to be afraid of.
