LONDON - A British artist has eaten chunks of a corgi dog, the breed favored by Queen Elizabeth II, live on radio to protest the royal family's treatment of animals.

Mark McGowan, 37, said he ate "about three bites" of the dog meat, cooked with apples, onions and seasoning, to highlight what he called Prince Philip's mistreatment of a fox during a hunt by the queen's husband in January.

Apples? ugh, I'm really trying not to believe the British sterotype about food but...damn.

Dog tastes best with whatever you would eat goat with.

Won't he be in trouble for animal abuse - he had to kill it to cook it? i hope the freak gets arrested. Poor little dog.

The dog was already dead. Besides killing an animal isn't abuse. Funny how you can kill a cow or a chicken and thats fine but not a cute fluffy little dog. The french eat horses it's all cultural.

I know the queen trains her corgis to attack the poor.

But biting a dog in an act of revenge? What a cock.

He's right in the sense that the monarchy are part of a by-gone age of aristocracy who think hunting animals is sport. Complete fuckin' idiots. Where's the sense in biting a dog, though? It's this sort of thing which fucks the whole thing up for the left who want rid of the monarchy because the right publicise this type of thing with a "look at them, they're idiots" type of headline, and all credibility goes down the swanny.

I ate dog in China several years ago.

I condone this.  Had he not done so, those three bites of Corgi, apples and seasoning would be out on the streets, dealing drugs, and raping women.

Yours,

benji

Dog meat tends to come as a fried dish although can be prepared many ways.  The meat is considered a red meat, and is said to be rather gamey.  I would consider a fruity red wine.. Zinfandel, Malbec, perhaps even a nice Chilean Carmenere.

Jokes aside, I suppose it makes an interesting protest... It doesn't exactly qualify as non-violent.  What was the royal family doing to animals that was worth eating a corgi over?  Polo you say?  That is terribly taxing on the horses.

Termyn8or -> RE: Man bites dog..... and then some..... (6/2/2007 9:22:40 AM)

I bit a dog once. Fucker nipped me in the back of the thigh when I was wrestling with his owner. The nerve.

He was deathly afraid of me for the rest of his life. And we are talking about an eighty pound German Sheperd here. Of course the white ones are a bit skiddish.

Worry about this shit next time you are eaten by a bear, or a lion or tiger. Nature sucks.

That's not to the OP, that refers to the person who ate the dog meat.

And someone mentuioned goat meat, I can tellya, it sucks. Elk, buffalo, venison, duck, goose, all good. Goat bad.

According to the book "101 Ways To Wok Your Dog,"  dog tastes best with Guinness Stout and a bit of lime jelly on the side.

That was what I was thinking. Most people hug a tree instead of chop it down as a protest over other mistreated trees.

Why in the hell would he eat a dog as a protest against animal abuse? Me thinks the man is a little off.

I thought it was cabbages and kings (or Prince Consorts).
