The 10-count indictment, which was handed down two weeks ago and unsealed Thursday, accuses 50-year-old Paul F. Little of five counts each of mailing obscene material and transporting obscene material through an interactive computer system. The indictment also alleges that Little, through his company, Max World Entertainment Inc., distributed films to Florida that met the U.S. Supreme Court's standards for obscenity. Little, who surrendered Wednesday, is a nationally known director, producer and star of adult films that are sexually graphic and depict "severe violence" toward women, the Justice Department said in announcing the indictment. ... A Justice Department spokesman said the prosecution was an outgrowth of a government anti-obscenity initiative started in 2001 under former U.S. Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft. "Whenever a new administration comes in, it has to make a decision on what resources to put where," Justice Department spokesman Bryan Sierra said. "And one of the things they took a look at in 2001 was to investigate and prosecute these types of crime because of the expansion of the Internet." The Bush administration has significantly increased the number of pornography prosecutions in recent years, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, a data-gathering and research organization associated with Syracuse University. Though the federal prosecution of white-collar crimes, gun offenses and police brutality cases is down nationwide, the number of pornography prosecutions has grown from 500 to 700 a year between 1999 and 2001, to 1,300 to 1,400 annually over the last three years, said David Burnham, co-director of the clearinghouse.

I am surprised he was not more careful. It is common knowledge amongst Kink filmmakers about "the crossing of state lines" law. Most likely he is being using as an example.

It's the whole idea of the thing. We don't have decency so we need this shit. The thing is that these administrations are so hypcritical it smacks of hubris. Look at what happened to Larry Flynt in Cinncinatti Ohio, and guess who was mayor at the time, Jerry Springer. Come on. As stated in the Protocols, freedom is an illusion. We can argue all day about whether the First Amendment protects porn, which IMO it does, but what about yelling "Fire" in a crowded thearter ? So if freedom of speech cannot be absolute, how can any other ? Look what happened to 2 Live Crew in Florida, although their material is considered offensive by many, what the government did was simply wrong. If you have P2P, download a song called Crazy Bitch by Buck Cherry. Somebody ripped that, from a CD, most likely bought in a store wouldn't you think ? Now the other issue. I (would like to) fail to understand how, in this country, the government could possibly endevor to prevent a business from testing their own product. But then I misstated that, I DO know why. Do I have to say it ? Let me spell it out for those who might not have had the advantage, you see one has to take care of their friends. I know this to a T, and we have only refused to bail two people out of jail, ever. One was getting out the next day anyway and the other was a felony which would require the signature of a property owner. Look, don't even put up our property to get ME out. So it is established that you must take care of your friends. OK, now if there was a meat company which could truthfully advertise that they check all the cows for disease, they might have an advantage in the market. If so the larger companies who do not care to check their cows for disease could lose business. And worse, this smaller company might get bigger. How could the politicians betray their friends like that. To permanently lose market share ? Damn, we can't have that. In short, they fuck with pornsters to appease the puplit, and fuck with the small businesses to appease big businesses. It really is that simple. T
