Says a lot that they are going to invest the valuable time of their investigators in watching Teletubbies for signs of homosexuality.

i do remember clause 28.....under it, it was technically illegal for the local council to collect the rubbish from an openly gay man. Needless to say there were never any prosecutions under such an unworkable law. About the only result of it was teachers being too afraid of being accused of homosexual propaganda to challenge the behaviour of kids using the word 'gay' as an insult. Consequently gay bashing in schools became much more of a problem.

Can't resist a favorite royal anecdote. Back in the '40s, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mum) visited South Africa. Its true enough - Teletubbies broadcasts a socially dangerous form of propaganda. Within its evil format, it proposes such ungodly notions as
1) people who stray from normal gender expression are OK
2) coloured people are OK
3) females are OK
However, it does have good points. A speaker phone which instructs the Teletubbies on the world and what to do, and a clean and tidy world where the sun always shines. The portrayal of such adherence and obedience to instructions given remotely by authority figures is vital to educating children about the world we live in.

On a similar note, I read something the other day that pointed out the Peanuts cartoon was profoundly existential.

The parents / rulers are never seen or heard.

The characters are stuck figuring out their lot in life with only 5 cent psychiatric advice.

Etc.

One of my favorite moments in San Francisco was walking into a Leather Shop, (think it was Mr. S but not sure) and into a big cage full of great bondage gear.
 
Perched atop a shelf, smiling down benevolently, who should I see, but the Purple Teletubbie!  Yes my fellow pervs, Tinky Winky with his triangular appendage and a new accessory, a large strap on dildo, was smiling down on me.  [:D]
