Gooo (the gay) Russians!  Hope it works out for 'em.

You know, I sometimes wonder, with relation to another thread on here lately, why China doesn't encourage homosexuality.  I mean, if it's a secular state hoping for population control.. seems like something to embrace.

Then again, a Chinese movement propetuating their disposable income?  That'd be horrible!  Before you know it, they'll start living like.. ..Americans!, or something.  (With some really cute girls!)  (Yes, I think Chinese girls tend to be cute. :P)  (Wait, a lot of them would be lesbians.. damn it.)  (Okay, so not all of them..)

I definitely do not think they should take it sitting down, but at the same time I should think they should utilize due process.  They will be much farther ahead in the end.

I disagree completely.  We need to honor and support those who rebel for the common good.

The United States founding fathers, Rosa Parks, Cindy Sheehan, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, the people who led the Storming of the Bastille, etc.

The people who are willing to take one for the team, to take up arms against injustice and inequity for the common good, etc.  The people not content to sit back and bask in the society as their freedoms are eroded.

While it is a great idea to work within the system, sometimes the system stacks the deck against the one seeking change.

I see your point, SirKenin, and I don't take law-breaking lightly. I think it's hard to work within the law, though, when you're up against a mayor who sees you as satanic. This may be one of those times, like the Boston Tea Party or Civil Rights marches, when one has to resort to civil disobedience.

Im really sorry but i have to disagree here, Activists from the west are going over and encouraging protest. They have no right to tell people to protest and put their life in danger. Just because we are more relaxed in the west it doesnt give us the right to force ideas on other religions or societies.

Perhaps, though, the gay/lesbian Russian activists welcomed the help from the West.

There is alot of phobia and hate based on sexual orientation.  It is based on tolerance.  Hell we don't see it here on this site.
