I live on a corner where two electric lines meet. Two sides of my house are spanned by electric lines.

Then tune in on your computer. KIDO 580 brodcasts it live over the Internet here

http://www.kido.net/pages/listenlive.html

And they're on the air live 24/7

Although I don't know how anybody could stand to listen to Art Bell for more than just a few minutes. I'd rather have my teeth pulled...

Different strokes for different folks(Maybe that phrase should only apply to adult entertainment)

I have the KIDO website bookmarked, but I'll be surprised if they do actually broadcast it. Have you noticed if they do actually broadcast that show(online) since you don't like it?

Doesn't Ham radio operate in the short wave bands. ie 10 Mhz and above ?

This was a rhetorical question in that I knew the answer to be Yes when I posed it.
The point is that it is easier to discriminate between high frequency signals than low frequency ones because  it is possible to construct higher Q factor circuits.
Q = Delta f divided by F
F = a centre frequency . delta f = frequency range to some defined point in the frequency spectrum, say +- 3 db.

Thus I say again for medium wave reception interference cannot be removed, by a lay person any way.
It is quite likely that govnt spy agencies have highly sophisticated quantised samplers that can seperate interweaved signals. I do not know this I just guess it is true.

not sure how to respond to that without knowing specificaly what kind of noise you are thinking of when you say what you say.  It not like i totally disagree with you, its just that i have pretty cheapo equipment and its rare that i cannot discriminate whatever it is i want to hear quite interference freee even if one peron is transmitting nearly on top of another...  woodpecker and sunspot noise is the most difficult but that does not sound like his problem.

yah i use hi q 6db skirts filters on mine and it has a amplified pretuner which considerable helps...

I like the Art Bell show, but when it hits 9PM around here, the signal goes to total shit. The show starts at 1AM EST. My stereo has a regular AM antenae. I'm wondering if there is a super AM antenae. I had XM radio, but I just wasn't enjoying the monthly bill. I'm wanting something I purchase once.

I live in some sort of weird area of radio interferrence. When I'm in my car, I get the channel at most hours, but I get around my house and the signal goes to total crap. Sometimes there is this other channel overlaying the channel I want.

This is only because where you live is a distinct subset of area 51...and as Art himself would attest....aliens have infested your radio signal signature.

(He has photos).

With the weird radio signal dropout here, I could believe it, but no one ever has good photos of anything paranormal.

They broadcast it. I never listen, but I know it's there. In one of my past lives I was a night person, you see... long story. But you can click on the following link for the "Coast To Coast" website and see a list of their affiliates (including KIDO), and even listen to past shows and stuff.

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Improving AM reception (5/25/2007 10:32:53 PM)

On Coast to Coast's site you gotta pay to listen. Around here, EST, the Art Bell show(Coast to Coast) starts live at 1AM. I went to the KIDO site(1:27AM- EST) and they are playing Rush Limbaugh.

Sanity -> RE: Improving AM reception (5/26/2007 6:54:26 AM)

There have to be a hundred stations webcasting that program. Try another one - the ones in orange are hyperlinks.

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/info/wheretolisten.html

According to the Coast To Coast web site, Coast To Coast starts at 9:00 pm Mountain Standard time on KIDO

M-F: 9p-4a
Sat: 11p-4a
Sun: 9p-4a

Griswold:
Perhaps this little blurb may be significant.
Many will recall that on July 8, 1947, witnesses claimed that an

Although I don't know how anybody could stand to listen to Art Bell for more than just a few minutes. I'd rather have my teeth pulled...

Thats the way I feel about almost any talk radio program or news video or whatever.

While the number of things I know anything about are fairly limited, I do happen to have quite a bit of education and professional experience about a couple of subjects.

My ex-wife used to listen to that stuff, and sometimes I could not escape.

Frequently, the talk radio person would blather nonsensically about something I had in-depth knowledge, experience, education, etc., about, and what ended up happening is their opinion was generally slanted, poorly researched, blatantly false, or obviously developed as some sort of weird truth by consensus of opinions of focus group.

Considering they were wrong about things I know something about, the only conclusion I ever came to (right wing, left wing, psycho ward wing, whatever) about any of them is that they are probably also wrong about things I dont know anything about.

Just me, etc.

what i like about alex jones is that though i have occasionally seen him stretch things a bit, its not all out propaganda like the gov is.   He actually holds up the articles long enough that you can pause them and do a search and review it and see if you agree.   i can appreciate that from a talk host.  only problem is he is most often correct i have found.  he is the one who begged the american people to call into conress and warn them that they better not not attack the wtc in get this "JULY 27Th 2001" radio show a full 2 months prior to it happening!!

People hate to hear that but that video circulated before it happened.....
